Maybe I'm mis-reading the year so far, but it looks like he has clear separation from everyone else in the draft. At least right now.

No he does not.  Offensively he is tier 1 talent

But so is smith jr, tatum, monk

Defensively Fultz screams out solid but not much more

This draft lacks a dominant two way player... Giles was suppose to come close

Josh Jackson. He just need to refine his shooting. Guy can attack the basket and play point.

If he cant shoot the nba defense will play him differently

I think we need to stop drafting guys and hoping their jump shots pan out . Would be nice to draft guys that already can shoot or have upside like tatum

Didn't you strongly want Jaylen Brown and Jordan Mickey, two other guys who can't shoot? Why the change of heart?

two keys in your analysis are

'effortless' -- almost as if he is toying with the other players.

'playmaking' -- his play making shows great vision.

I was particularly impressed by the play where he tapped the rebound to his teammate.

Maybe if he'd expend a little more effort and stop "toying" with other players his team wouldn't be losing badly to Yale.

JUDGING by your name you really want him to play hard for UW when he is not getting paid. I don't blame him for not wanting to get hurt. He should be in the NBA if the powers did not mandate one year in college. He is one and done.

Effort and competitiveness aren't something you just turn on because you're getting paid.    Jackson and Tatum are playing hard.  So are Monk and Fox.

My screen name has nothing to do with UW.

And it would be nice if we stop drafting undersized SGs. Jackson is a bigger and more athletic version of Marcus Smart with quick first step, something that only stars in this league have.

Jackson is shooting 51% from the field without shooting outside, can rebound, play multiple positions and defend. Im not even counting his intagibles. Fultz, Ball and Smith will be this draft's Jamal Murray, Kris Dunn and Buddy Hield.

What if Boogie demanded to play PG, though?

Right now Tatum is shooting 30% from 3 and Jackson is shooting 27%. Jackson would be "hoping someone pans out" and we should not draft him. Tatum "has upside" and we should draft him.

Am I getting that right?

They have "workable" forms on their jumpers

Take a look at the way jackson shoots ...

To be quite honest, I don't know if Fultz is even the clear #1 pick. It seems recent mocks seem to favor Lonzo Ball at #1. The problem right now is that these new guys, especially the guards, are so good that they all look like they are not even trying, so its hard to assess ATM

Whatever happens in this Draft there should be at least 7 teams getting an exciting young player.

Imo at least 9-10 teams

Fultz, ball, smith jr., Tatum, jackson, anunoby, isaac

Also to consider
Fox , bridges, monk

And Philly may be getting two.

I can't even begin to sort this draft out at this point.  I am still hoping that Giles comes on and proves to be the real deal and we get him.  We will have another crack at a wing/guard in 2018 (every draft has a few) but we may not have a crack at a top tier big.  You never know but chances at top tier bigs tend to be fewer and farther between than chances at wings/guards.

Fultz looks like the best prospect right now, his ability to create offense is elite. He can get his shot off against anyone or set his teammates for easy buckets. With his length (6'10 wingspan) and athleticism give him the tools to be a great defender, but he hasn't shown the defense you want so far.

By the time the draft comes around, I predict that there will not be a consensus. It happened the year Okafor came out, and I expect it to happen again this year.

As a fan of the current Celtics team, I'd rather Boston ends up with Jackson, Tatum, or Monk instead of Fultz. I like what we currently have at pg, and I'd rather not draft a player that forces change at the position.

Jackson, Tatum and Monk are all capable of plus shot creation at the next level and that is our biggest need long term, imo. Jackson does it with ball handling and athleticism, Tatum has a deadly face up game from the triple threat, while Monk can score off the ball, in transition and in the pick and roll.

Short term, Tatum and Jackson could give us wing minutes and long term I could see either pairing well with Brown. Monk fits very well next to Smart and could be a long term replacement for Bradley if he wants the max in the summer of 2018.

I trust Tatum, Monk and Fultz as shooters. Tatum might not be shooting the 3 at a high percentage but his free throw percentage is almost 90%. Draft studies have shown that college free throw percentage is more predictive of NBA 3 point percentage than college 3 point percentage.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I get the general feeling that Boston isnt going to resign IT4 after next season anyway. Fultz steps in as the starting PG for him.

I have no idea where your feeling is coming from, other than a place of misunderstanding.

If he ends up on the Sixers they are going to be dominant for a long, long time. Embiid, Simmons, Saric and Fultz plus whatever they get for Okafor and Noel would be tough to beat.

This is why Danny has to be very cautious and not make any moves to help the cause of the tanking Sixers.
GMs can't worry too much about other teams because any help to another team not directly involved in a trade is usually less than the help of the move to your own team. We need to do what helps our team.

Looks like every team that ends up in the lottery should be thrilled lol Don't forget to add TJ Leaf, I'm betting he goes in the lottery.

Yeah, it's ridiculous how good this class looks compared to last years. All these guys look like Monstars playing against the Backyard Sports kids.
