Nothing too groundbreaking but if your like me and enjoy vegging out to some NBA Draft discussion this podcast has some interesting stuff.

*******SPOILERS BELOW*********

Topics discussed

-Markelle Fultz has solidified himself as the top prospect but Washington Coach Lorenzo Romar needs to start winning some games if he wants to keep coaching. Recruits elite talent but his teams never make the tourney.

-None of the Centers in the late lottery (Bam Adebayo, Marques Bolden, Thomas Bryant) are trending to look like starter level centers but Vecenie Mentioned that he's high on Texas A and M Center Robert Williams since he has ridiculous athletic ability.

-Frank Ntilikina is doing well this year playing the 2 for his club but still showed off his point guard skills in international play.

-Lauri Markkanen is probably a starting center in the league but will need a rim protecting 4 next to him to get the most out of him.

-Danny had a great line that he stole from Kevin Arnovitz that said, if you have to ask if they're a 3 or a 4 they're a 4.

-Jonanthan Issac's handle is around where Paul George was coming out of Fresno State. His ceiling is higher that Josh Jackson though Jackson will come into the league with proven scoring ability.

-Malik Monk is only getting to the line 2 1/2 times a game. Neither are all that high on him. Sam thinks he's a better shooting Monta Ellis. A guy that can put up numbers but doesn't move off the ball particularly well.

-Long Section on Lonzo Ball. Sam likens him to a Kyle Korver with elite playmaking abilities. Extremely versatile. Will need the right situation to unlock his full potential. Ball/Simmons/Embiid?

-Finally my favorite tid bit. Jason Tatum is as good as advertised and one of the scout's Sam spoke to is so sure that his mechanics on his 3 ball will even out that he think that Tatum could lead the league in scoring. Thinks it'd be a surprise if he falls out of the top 4.

Good pod, worth a listen, what do you all think of the talking points?

TP thx.

Any mention of Giles?

They love his versatility, think that he'd make the most dominant defensive frontcourt pairing with Nerlens Noel, since they could both protect the rim and switch onto guards in the P and R.

Like everyone else their in wait and see mode. Giles so far to my knowledge has played 10 minutes in 2 games since returning from injury.

We aren't going to take another guard unless Fultz falls in our lap.  Isaac and Jackson I like. Giles and Tatum aren't far behind.

Tatum is a player I have liked a lot as well.  Haven't seen everyone, but his versatile offense and size is really impressive.  He has those Pierce kind of midpost and back to the basket moves.

It's hard to imagine a world where Tatum isn't a starting caliber wing in this league. I've got his floor set firmly at Tobias Harris and his ceiling as Melo without the crippling ego problems and suspect conditioning.

It'd be nice if there was a more clear cut big man option at the top but trade the pick or use it, Danny has options with how he want's this team to shape up.

Another guy they mentioned briefly is De'Aaron Fox. I'm really high on this kid. His size and speed changing ability make him a nightmare to try to contain.

They mention that a strength of his is his tendency to play up to his opponents when he matches up against top talen. I think that it-factor is pretty clearly on display in this video against Lonzo even though UCLA won the game.

De'Aaron Fox is my favorite PG prospect in the draft.

I do not want to use our draft pick to get a 3rd string point guard, I am a huge believer in Giles. I watched him play today vs Virginia Tech and this is what I took from it:

Statline- 4 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist 2-6 shooting in 13 minutes

His rebounding was very impressive. He had four offensive rebounds I believe and had a great nose for the ball. I saw one rebound where someone on Duke shot a 3 and Giles was about eight feet away from the ball and two guards from Virginia Tech were about 5 feet away from it and Giles was able to get the rebound before the guards due to his hustle and extremely long wingspan. He also had a put back layup and two missed tip ins. His defensive rebounding was spectacular. It seemed like everything in the general area of Giles was going to go to him. It is clear that rebounding is his best attribute at this point of his career.

He was 1-3 in the post on three hook shots. He has a simple post game right now, all he did was back down his defender and shot a hook shot on all three of his attempts. He is really raw on the offensive end right now but I feel like he will get better and better as the season goes on.
Here's the one that he made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ya3CEDmDGVQ

His defense definitely need some work. He had three fouls in 13 minutes and did not do a great job protecting the rim. However this is partly due to the fact that Virginia went small and made Giles guard on the perimeter. He needs to learn how to play defense and contest shots without fouling, but I see great potential on this end for him.

If Giles can stay healthy I really think his draft stock is going to rise and he will be in the conversation for a top three pick come draft time.

I want Jason Tatum.  Yes the Celts could really use a next level big man talent like Zinger or Towns, but a sweet scoring wing with size to play either forward spot would be really nice.

Imagine having Jaylen Brown (Year Two) and Jayson Tatum coming off the bench next year.

TP. I watched a Tatum mix of his early games - looks cray, strong, solid.
