I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Now I like Terry and think he could be a good player, but with the 2017 draft being a very guard heavy draft I don't see him keeping a spot. Just think about the prospects:

Fultz, obviously takes Terry's bench role away (I'm very high on Marcus)
Ball, same as Fultz
Jackson, he's not a PF so you'd play him as a wing. Aka probably bench SG.
Tatum, this might fit if you put one of him or Jaylen at the 4
Giles works but I'm iffy on his injury history
Monk, SG that takes Terry's role
Isaac would bring the same problem as Tatum
Smith, same as Fultz and Ball

That right there is  your top 8 prospects and there's no way Terry takes playing time over any of them.

Furthermore, I don't see Terry in green next season. If you get the chance to flip him and a pick for Noel (even for a one year rental and rights to him as an RFA) you gotta do it.

Even if it wasn't a guard heavy draft, I'd still want to move T-Ro if he had value. Between IT, AB, Smart, GG and JB, were just so packed at the guard slot (Rozier is positionally a 1 but TBH, he plays like a 2). If we could get a bruiser of a big man, I'd be on board.

I don't think JB is a guard but I see every guard in this draft lottery as an upgrade over Rozier.

Time to look at Nurkic or Noel

this board is so fickle, its rozier 2nd year and in essence he is rookie
i thought he made real progress but i think the schedule really hurt him and he got rattled, started to press and made lousy decisions
cut the guy some slack ,we got a run of home games and a practice facility

I agree he has made progress and I like him as a player. But with the glut of good guards in this draft, he is easily replaceable.

I'm cutting rozier all the slack in the world because you are dead on rollie.

The simple fact of the matter is that this draft is guard heavy, and all of them are better than rozier. If we get the 1st pick, we can take a guy that could arguably one day be the best PG in the league. At that point, you don't do anything to impede his development, like refuse to give minutes to him because he is a rookie. Rozier could be good, but those minutes need to go to a pg if we take it that high.

Even if it wasn't a guard heavy draft, I'd still want to move T-Ro if he had value.

That's our problem though - he is riding the bench and his value is not very high because of that.  Add in the fact that there is a surplus of capable PGs in the league and Rozier's value is even lower.

Eh, I see him more as a 2/3 rather than a 3/4. The lineup of Smart, Brown, Crowded, JJ and Zeller worked today. Sub Zeller out for a competent big like Horford and that'd be a pretty good lineup to use consistently. Of course, it leaves TRo the odd man out again. I'd be on board getting Nurkic or Noel though.

I'm not sure he will make it past this season.

on the one hand, I'll do whatever it takes for Boogie.
on the other, I will never feel good about sending any young player to Sacramento.
