  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
The guard version of Artest is still the only comp I see fit. Marcus has interesting skills like making the perfect pass and hitting big shots in the clutch, but the thing that makes Marcus so effective is that he is about the meanest player in the league. His attitude and his linebacker body is a recipe for disaster for opponents.

I suppose he can continue to work on his post game, but I have basically given up on Marcus even being an average guard scorer - his percentages are too low from outside and his drives to the hoop make me wince in pain. HOWEVER, he has a very important role in this league and it's why so many fans from other teams hate him (and Crowder for that matter).

Marcus is not the meanest player in the league. He never tries to injure people like Wade and Lebron.
