With news that Dragic is on the trading block it is same to say the 10-20 Heat are looking to go into a tank mode for this season. Given their roster it makes sense to set their sites on one of this drafts elite PGs and look to build with the pick Winslow and a low mileage 27yr old Whiteside not to mention a few nice young role players.

This brings to light the question of " Who doesnt want to win this season ?". 30 games into an 82 game season most teams have an idea how good they are and if they are a viable playoff team.

The teams that I predict will look to move vets to help the lottery cause. They are potential celtics trading partners.

Heat, see dragic above. Also with Bosh done they need a major talent add. Hard to see a viable trade coming from this roster.

Suns, they have a really weird mix of players with Chandler, Dudley, Tucker and Barbosa all being players who should be role players on contenders. Bledsoe and Knight in their primes and a slew of very young talented players lead by Booker. The issue Chandler and Dudley are both signed to 3 year deals and its hard to see DA committing that contract length to them. Tucker and Barbosa are both likely candidates to be moved and could be in play as add ins to larger deals (IE if Rozier where moved to get a big Barbosa would be great in his role). Same goes for Tucker if 3/4 minutes came available.

Mavs, Bogut is the likely target for the Cs. As a mater of principle and pride Cuban has said this team will not tank. However I would not be surprised if we see Bogut and D Williams moved by the deadline

Nuggets, this is a team that really just needs to hand the reins off to their young players. At 12-17 they are by no means out of the playoff hunt but they have a roster that doesn't fit well and with a consolidation trade they could fix the rotation to give their young guys consistency.  Gallanari, Faried and Chandler have all been mentioned in trade rumors in the past and seem like candidates to be moved. Not great fits for the Cs but Gallinari particularly could give a major scoring punch as a 3/4.

I would take Bogut or Tyson, and possibly Gallo, but any deal has to be a good bargain.

Solid assessment. Riley has not been afraid to tank - he won't stand for a middling franchise. The Suns are in a state of disarray, playing a bunch of old guys for no good reason and burying their lottery pick Bender.

I don't disagree about the Mavs, but they're a team with some fight, especially if Dirk can make an impact on his return. If I owned them, I shut him down for the year, try to consolidate some assets, bring him back for a victory tour next year and one last playoff push. I don't know if Cuban thinks that way, I guess we'll see.

Denver is a team that could (should?) be competitive this year if they sort out their lineup.

I would be more than willing for the Celtics to take on a guy like Bogut if he didn't cost much. Maybe a non-lottery pick or two, some filler salaries. I might be interested in Faried, too - 27, high energy, defensive versatility, excellent rebounder and athlete. Not much of a shooter or offensive savant (Bogut isn't a shooter but his passing acts as a great floor spacer), but certainly isn't a dinosaur, either.

Poor, dumb Sacramento. Does anyone else see the Kings talking themselves into a playoffs run again, now that they're about a game out of the 8 spot? Holding onto Boogie and then losing him for next to nothing next season when he says he won't resign? SMH.

If the Heat actually trading Dragic they may be the only true tankers for now.
Dallas are trending upwards (slightly but still upwards.)

I'd give a package of Amir Johnson/Jonas Jerebko/ Celtics 2018 1st round pick for Gallinari.

Denver can't think he is that sought free given he is so injury prone.

I do worry about him stealing minutes but a scorer like him could teach Jaylen Brown a lot.

how can you shut down a player for the year that probably has a year and a half left in his career?

I think we can confidently say the Nets doesn't have as much talent as the other bottom 5 teams

I don't understand why people still want Bogut. He's done.

I'd be happy to sign him as FA after he's released in Feb.  He'd be better use of a roster spot than Jordan Mickey.

havent seen him much this year. Is he substantially worse than last year?

I dont think its wise to ask him to do a lot, but Brad likes big men that can pass and its my understanding that hes pretty good in that department. And hes obviously a nice rim protector who can rebound.

He's hurt again and last I checked (slightly before his injury), his FG% was about 45%, which is downright terrible for someone who takes most of his shots at the rim.

Rebounding was great tho.

Booker maybe pretty good.  .....if you planning on letting AB , Smart , Rozier go in trade for a big man star.

I like Bogut on the very short term ,very cheap , while we wait for the BIG FISH to hit the bait .

I don't see much that I'd spend for.

Brown is looking like he might be a player .....he needs to be on the court way more.

Right now, he's pretty much a Reggie Evans clone and he's always hurt. His shot blocking seems to have fallen off a cliff this season.

Granted, he expires at the end of season, but I can't possibly consider him a reliable solution for our issues.

Field goal percentage for a player who takes like 5 shots a game isn't so important.

Bogut's a savvy passer and a terrific team defender. He's not a Reggie Evans clone. That's a ridiculous comparison.

And like SL said, he's better than Mickey. He could give us valuable minutes during the playoffs, depending on who we are playing.
