Those players should write a book about Karl. He's always been a jerk. Why write a book trashing all the guys you worked with after you already made millions working with them?

He's not wrong about Melo. Plays too much iso-ball and while I agree he is a top-10 offensive player/scorer in the league, that's about it.

He doesn't really make his teammates better and the reality is, he would likely need to be a #2 piece on a championship team (as Max Kellerman said on First Take, Melo just isn't the alpha on an NBA team). That's why the Knicks have been middle of the pack in recent years and spent the last two years practically tanking/rebuilding.

Probably held it in for this long.. its his choice

But the sad part is that it doesnt really hurt these players future or anything. Look at their contracts

Why should it hurt their future? Karl never held anything in, he clashed with his top players and owners everywhere he went. He's a hot head and as much of a spotlight seeker as the players he trashed. He forgets though that it's a payers league. That's why he's unemployed now.

Funny, I'm sure there's some discord between Karl and his former best players so he probably exaggerated some instances on that book, but I've always questioned how exactly players like Melo and Cousins aren't doing at least something close to what LeBron did with the Cavs during that first go around.

I might skim through this book and see if he sheds light as to how both of their NBA careers have been running on treadmills and not getting anywhere.

Nothing George Karl hasn't said about Melo in the past. Well no, that is not right. The offense and defense stuff Karl has all said before but this wasn't:

He was also a user of people, addicted to the spotlight and very unhappy when he had to share it.

Karl clearly worded his book badly but these players were just bad locker room influences.  Melo still is a bad presence and why the Knicks have been a disaster since he arrived (remember when stoudemire was doing a good job leading that team).  Kenyon Martin was a complete waste of talent, not worth the 1st overall pick, and whatever was said about his lack of paternal guidance was in poor taste (though a psychologist would probably agree that it could be a major reason why Martin never took responsibility for wasting his attitude and actions on the court). JR Smith was and still is a baby; Smith is only kept in line because Lebron is a master at using people.

Karl is a punk. He's isolated guys like Ray Allen, Kendall Gill, and Seth Curry. It's not just the "usual suspects".

I fully agree with Roy. Karl is a self centered punk who clashes with just about everybody and then wines about it.

Those guys never trashed their players in public and made legitimate attempts to work with players for a shared goal, unlike Karl.

It's like if Doc would come out with a book and say Rondo was a class A jerk who everyone hated. We all know that, but why do that? You just look like an Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. and a loser when you do that.

George Karl kind of sucks to be honest.

I mean, we understand you had issues, and grievances, but why air them out now? Clearly he's trying to profit off of his ex players, and instead of mending broken bridges is blatantly just trying to make it even more difficult for anyone to ever give him any coaching position or analyst spot.

Karl has always seemed like the guy who you had a love and hate relationship with.

A lot of the things he's said is true, but he comes off as a very self-centered me first guy with the creation of this book.
