This is the Celtics and it's not particularly close. KG and Perk the Warriors have no answer for. KG would dog Green. Pierce played really good defense on LeBron that year so he should be able to handle KD. Then you have Rondo and Ray vs Curry and Thompson. Slight edge to the Warriors. The Bench absolutely goes to the Celtics. I think Celtics in 6.

Celtics in 6 or 7. For all the hype draymond green gets now, he's not on KG's level of impact. IMO that's what will determine the series.

It is no where near a slight edge to the Warriors in the backcourt.  It is an insurmountable gap.  Rondo was way too young to do anything defensively and Allen had already lost a step and was never a good defender.  Curry and Thompson would score at will.  And yeah Pierce played good defense on James, but James wasn't playing offense with Curry, Thompson, and Green either.  Durant wouldn't need to play hero ball like James was forced to do.  Garnett would Green would be an interesting matchup.  Garnett was clearly a better all around player, but Green is a good enough defender that he would have irritated the crap out of Garnett and because Green is an excellent shooter he would draw Garnett out of the paint where his defense is most effective.  Perkins would barely play because the only person he can guard is Pachulia who would barely play in the series.

The Warriors would beat the Celtics.  I think the games would be close, but I really can't see the Warriors not winning in 6 or less games.

I think KG could spend quite a lot of time on Durant and then have Pierce switch onto Draymond Green. SFs like Pierce have done a good job on Green defensively and KG gives a much longer defender to put on Durant. KG was still quick enough back in 2008 to defend Durant.

It would be easier when Zaza is on the floor so Perk can protect the basket. When Zaza goes off and more shooting comes on, it would be harder for KG to stay with Durant on defense.

Warriors, and I'm not sure it is close. That Celtics team needed 7 games to dispatch a 37 win Hawks team, 7 games to beat a significantly worse LeBron lead Cavs team, and went 3-9 on the road in playoffs in a series where if you go by regular season record they don't have home court...

Take off the green shades.

those 37 win Hawks team are not the Warriors. The Cavs team are not the Warriors. Neither of the 29 teams they beat that year are not the Warriors. The Cavs that lost to the Warriors in the regular season and had worse records beat them in the finals. In a playoff series its all about matchups, those arguments you have weighs very little.

Yes, all of the teams you played that year are worse than both the Thunder and the Cavs from last year.

This isn't even close. GSW wins both the talent battle and the match up battle. Heck, they'd have won the finals if it wasn't for Draymond being a lunatic.
I'd tend to agree but w/l doesn't back that up.

Celtics beat 59 win Pistons in 7 and 57 win lakers in 6
Warriors beat 54(?) win spurs in 7 and lost to 57(?) win cavs in 7.

Warriors obviously won a crazy 73 to the Celtics elite 66 and did better in the first two rounds.

I don't think KG in 2008 could guard a wing as good as Durant is.  He just didn't have the lateral quickness he would need.
