I don't think Van Gundy is in jeopardy, but I do think they look to shake up their roster sooner than later.
Potential someone for Ainge to scam at the trade deadline?
Meh, who??
Van Gundy. Any team shaking things up means rotational guys who might fit nicely with us becoming available, cos Ainge knows a guy who has what your looking for
Like Harris? Morris? more undersized guards? I can't think of a single piece they have that I would even consider. Drummond is not getting traded in a billion years either. Baynes might be a nice back-up piece...
Detroit's guards aren't really undersized so Boston probably isn't interested. Ha.
Drummond is a clear upgrade and I think Harris is an upgrade on Crowder, but he isn't enough of an upgrade to be worth the cost it would take to acquire him. Morris may also start in Boston, but he isn't really much different than Olynyk.
That said, if they would move Stanley Johnson fairly cheap, I'd absolutely want to take a flyer on him. He still has immense potential which seems to be lost in Detroit.
As for the question in the thread, Detroit lacks a #1 scorer and may not even have a #2 scorer. If they slip up defensively they just have no way to really get back into a game. Now perhaps when Jackson is back up to speed health wise some of those issues will be rectified, but until then, if they can't beat you in a 90-89 type game, then they have a hard time winning.
