NOP is only 4 games out of the playoffs and Holliday and Evans are back now.  NOP made the playoffs in 2014/15 season.  Trading Davis would be an extremely stupid move.

If New Orleans is trading Davis it will be because he asks to be traded, and if that happens, New Orleans will require any team acquiring Davis to also acquire Asik and possibly Hill or Moore.  New Orleans would want to dump all role player salary in any sort of trade, so they could literally wipe the slate clean.  Thus understanding the premise that Davis demands to be traded, I think this is a fairly reasonable trade for both teams.

Boston - Davis, Asik, Hill, Cunningham
NO - Brown, Crowder, Young, Jerekbo, Johnson, Zeller, BOS 17, BKN 18, MEM 1st

so post-trade Boston is

PG - Thomas, Rozier, Jackson
SG - Bradley, Smart
SF - Hill, Green
PF - Davis, Olynyk, Cunningham, Mickey
C - Horford, Asik

Team has 2 open roster spots so some SF depth can be added that way (maybe a Smart for Noel/Covington type trade)
