Two man combinations per Basketball-Reference  (mins played and points per 100 possessions listed)

1   J. Brown  | T. Rozier   147:40   +9.7
2   A. Bradley | A. Horford   132:29   +6.0
3   J. Crowder | I. Thomas   140:30   +3.8

could be an aberration but that's enough time together to say it is not.

TP: Thought the Celtics were doing better with the Brown/Rozier lineup. Thanks for the stats.

of course they are doing better going against the scrubs of opponents. Have your numbers been adjusted with the time on the floor (garbage time for example or going after the opponents second team). You know that saying about lies. Well, there are three of them:

1. Lies

2. White Lies, and

3. Statistics.

How many times does our 2nd team lose to their 2nd team?  Most of the time.

If your bench sucks, you lose.

would you please be able to offer up the evidence for your assertion on "our 2nd team" losing most of the time?

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

JBrown has ways to go.

Now, about Rozier;  he has impressed me and at times, the team looks better with him on the floor. Having said that, I am not sure I would bench any of the current starters for him....

Like I said, I think this is "interesting."  Could be an aberration but they have as many minutes together as the 2nd and 3rd pairs on that list, and you wouldn't doubt those results.

Something to watch for in the future.

Our bench would be better if our back up bigs didn't suck.

Brown/Rozier are +2.6 points per 100 possessions and have played 155 minutes so far.  Basketball reference gets a lot of stuff wrong.  The truth is that their numbers look better because of some junk minutes they have played in the 4th qtr. in which they have played 61 minutes and have outscored their opponents 141-105.  In the 1st 3 qtrs. when playing together they have been outscored 166-194.

Not all the 4th quarter minutes have been junk time.  They were on the floor for that key 17-0 run against the Twolves the other night.

Can you please post a link wit the different numbers?

thanks in advance for the reasoning and evidence.

The commonly held perception on these boards is that our bench is getting outplayed regularly. This can be backed up simply by looking at bench production over the course of this season. I think the SA bench scored close to 50 points to our 20 something

though at one time common consensus was that the celtics had a great bench too.

good point on the SA game. do other games support this as well?
