What does anybody see in this guy? I can not wait until he is off this team. He is a goofy, flat footed, no passion, no hustle, tool. My post is angry because he could be so much more of a player.

My Monday morning rant is now over.

and not a moment too soon!

goofy - because he has long hair?  Is that a problem?
flat footed - are you his doctor?
no passion - have you spoken to him?
no hustle - show me where he doesn't run back on defense.
tool - not necessarily a bad thing if it helps the team

He's an average-to-above-average defender that is 7 feet tall and shot 40.5% on threes last year.  He's not a good inside player or bruiser, but you shouldn't expect him to be.  He fills his role extremely well (but, unfortunately, that role is not what the team needs right now)
I'm bitter.

Must say that the early returns on his return are disappointing.  We know that Brad told him to be more assertive/aggressive, and just see a regression in that department.

In fairness, he is coming back from major surgery, plus being thrust in as a starter, a role that, let's face it, does not suit him.

Now that we are back to full strength, I will be patient with Kelly to see how he fits into this roster.  There does seem to be some redundancy between his role and that of Swede Bird, and maybe the solution will be to let KO walk at the end of this season.

I don't see him on the team next year. Hopefully he will be packaged in a trade. I think if we could get Bogut for him right now it would help him to play with Dirk. Bogut gives us what we need to win this year. We already have Brown, Young and our 2 overseas player plus two high picks coming to wait on in the coming year.

another first round pick allowed to walk? What Ainge gains via trade he loses in his draft picks.

I think Olynyk will look great in black and white, starting at PF for the Brooklyn Nets. Danny, please trade him to Brooklyn- today!

Please don't, he's pretty much a perfect fit for their system of jacking up 3s

He would be perfect. He could miss the open 3 pt shot, making their fans why they ever picked this guy up.

Maybe another fan base could be convinced that he is an "average to above average" defender.

He needs to play in the high post more.  He could use more of his skills.  Brad has him just sitting on the perimeter waiting to shoot open threes.  He could do much more.

He passes up too many open looks. I would be fine moving him this year if it was maybe for a package including Brook Lopez.

Kelly is a good kid...he has skills. He's just timid, laid back, not aggressive.

If you're looking for him to change in the near future you'll be disappointed. He is what he is. He's almost 26 now.

On a contender where he's seeing end of the bench minutes, he would be fine. Nobody would be even talking about him. But, on a team that is looking for him to have nightly impact, battle for wins, and be a floor leader... sorry that dog ain't gonna hunt.

Anyone who agrees with OP, seriously doesn't understand the value of KO. He's 7 feet tall, he pulls centers OUT OF THE PAINT. He knocks down threes with incredible accuracy for a big. Yes, he plays mediocre defense, and is not the fastest man on the planet. Just because we are lacking rebounding in this current moment, you can not expect him to fill that role all of the sudden. That has never been his fore-tay. Are you really saying that the guy who ripped Kevin Love's shoulder out of the socket doesn't have passion for the game?!?!!?!? This thread is a joke.

The only thing that bothers me about KO is his tendency to try to rive all the way to the rim when he is driven off the 3 pointer.  When he is run off the three he should ball fake then step in a couple of feet to shoot the 18 footer.

I agree with the previous post that there should be a play for him from the foul line extended.  He simply cannot beat anyone off the dribble from the three point line, but if he were to limit his drives to the foul line extended he could shoot or pass with relative ease.

His help defense is improved, but I hope he is not put in the position, like last game, when he was covering Drummond.  That was scary.
