Talent wins in basketball.  This team down 2 starters loses to this GS team probably 19 out of 20 times.

hell, this team even with 2 starters back will lose to that GS team at least 15 out of 20 times. really, the overreactions to this game are hilarious. did anyone seriously expect us to do well? i think a lot of people just have very high expectations since we've played them so well over the past 2 years.

that being said, the team does have an effort problem right now. gotta be better.

You really think this is an overreaction thread, when it only poses questions? The question is whether or not the honeymoon is over for the coach. It goes much further than one game.

Does he bail for college if the heat turns up.

That's an overreaction if I ever saw one.

Besides...what is "this"?

How should Celtics management handle this.

Your entire post is rather unclear? are you talking about the season as a whole? are you talking about the last game?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

Coach is fine, we are over achievers and now playing like we are a contender and can play lazy. We are the shortest team in the League and we have a rebounding issue and soft bigs and got Al who is not a rebounder waiting. Hate to miss old players but Sully and turner were something. Any medicore rebounding big would do, the d league is full of them.

It is the coach's job to manage expectations and make sure the players are focused based on their abilities, not the hype.

As to the Turner factor, I told all that would listen last season that Turner was an 'invaluable' asset because he was perhaps the only player on the team that could get his shot and get to any spot he wanted on the court. We should have kept him.
Re-signing Turner at 4yr/68M would have been a terrible decision.

I LOVED Evan. i was also among those who really wanted him back and felt his loss was not understood well enough. but signing him to that huge contract would have been a huge mistake.

Oh good lord. Even without Crowder and Horford we're currently 6th in the conference. How on Earth would Stevens be on the hot seat?

The honeymoon was over last year.

What will be an issue is any resistance CBS has to adding talent, like Boogie.  This team needs to be evaluated with both Horford and Crowder back, but without them they are getting blownout.  That tells me there is a severe lack of talent on the roster.

Brad Stevens is on a six year contract. Management wants him here and he wants to be here, end of story.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

2nd this. The Celtics have had multiple games missed by KO, Horford, Crowder and Smart. 4 of the top 7 players in the rotation have had injury problems and the team is at .500 and in 6th place.

Brad is coaching well while keeping the team in the playoff race and giving a lot of minutes to young guys to get minutes. Brad is giving Brown and Rozier major minutes and has even tried to give Mickey and Young some run.

IMO Brad is fine, he coaches the team he has in front of him. He lost 2 starters off his shallow front line.

I'm a bit disappointed in Danny, going SO small, and having too many finesse only players on the roster.

I'm glad we are finally questioning Ainge'S questionable decision-making during offseasons.

Agree .   We need less Young , Rozier and such and a YOUNG BIG who can play like Nerlins , Steven Adams , etc ....stand in the paint and defend and rebound.

Stevens is more than just a game coach. I heard Ainge say that all team decisions are made by Wyc, himself and Stevens--equally.

Stevens is an accomplished game coach. But I'm not so sure he knows how to put an NBA Championship team together. That is supposed to be Ainge's specialty. Wyc is the money.

When Danny finishes 'the build' will be the time the microscope is applied to CBS. He has done great with the talent he has had available since arriving. I think the team needs two additions, one with size and one who can shoot consistently. Maybe the team only needs one player who has both attributes. Either way I think Brad needs to have time with a finished product to see if he can bring a title to Boston.

I think Brad has earned support and respect.

I mean the honeymoon is probably over. Its his 4th year now, we have legit talent in place. That said, I dont think hes deserving of much criticism. I think hes a pretty terrific coach.
