Biyombo for a late 1st?

Would Orlando go for this?   Maybe a couple late firsts and a throw in?  Is Biyombo that good or overrated/underrated?  Is he more a block machine that likes to hurt people or is he more skilled than that?

His contract is a bit huge.  I think he is one of the guys who got 70 over 4  years.  Compared to Zeller though it's not that bad.

Is Biyombo even that good? I always felt he was somewhat overrated but he is a shotblocker. He doesn't get much other stats on defense.  He is a rebounder on the glass and a shotblocker and seems to move around a lot. 

His rebounding and  shotblocking numbers are both elite because of how active he is there.

I like targeting another big, but I'm not sure Biyombo at his salary is the most attractive asset in the NBA. I would rather shop the bargain bin then spend money on a big without a decent offensive game.

If Biyombo plays similar to Ben Wallace, his contract will be validated.

He looks real nice here.  If he were Ben Wallace that would be nice.  He is scoring on easy buckets but thats what we'd want.  If he ever develops a decent jump shot.  Dude can block and rebound.  Also like when he moves his feet and gets steals but he doesnt do that too much.

Better defender than Ibaka apparently if he does it with consistency.

I like how we rebound as a team and our guards have to rebound.  Getting a guy like Cousins we might get lazy.  Biyombo would play 20-25 mpg and we'd still rebound as a team.  He'd definately help us in 2 key areas which is rim protection and rebounding.   I like when he establishes position inside on offense as well.

I agree. Biyombo is a decent player (solid defensively and weak offensively). I have no interest in paying him close to $20m.

Without studying the merits of the player, there's simply no feasible way to get him. First, we aren't going to tie up next Summer's money on him, so trading for him at this point would be fairly moronic from Ainge.

After free-agency, we simply won't have the assets to trade for him (throwaway contracts).

So without looking at the propose trades, I just don't see how to make this happen.

Me too. I think he did very well in the playoffs for Toronto, but his playoff performances also got excessively hyped. He is clearly nowhere near as good as the amount of money he's getting.

Or we could just use 2 late second rounders to dump Zeller on some tanking team with cap space. Then shell out a vet min contract on some specialist shot blocker type big. I am thinking a Greg Stiemsma, Ryan Hollins style 10 minutes 6 fouls and block a night type bruiser.
