Dorian Finney-Smith is going to drop a career high tomorrow.

lol, probably. i remember we brought him in for a workout during the predraft process, i was actually kinda intrigued by him. pretty versatile guy. seemed like he worked hard on his game.
Indeed, it just seems as if every game some guy comes out of the woods and drops a career high. I dont really remember Dorian, did he just come out of college?

DFS played locally here in Va - he's a tireless worker whom I believe will one day soon be as good as Jae Crowder is.

Give him a couple of years. He's talented, hungry, a smart player and multi-faceted.

He wasn't highly touted but DAL has a gem in this guy.

Just have to control your expectations. Don't really count myself as part of the "we" who never thought there was a chance that they could start like this.

DA chose a high upside but will need time to develop rookie and asked him to fill in for our highest usage bench player last year. We have a roster full of players who have sustained significant injuries in the past. Not much of a stretch to imagine two of the top 5 players could go down earley in the season.

We've had an unfortunate and frustrating start to the season but we also made roster moves this year that will benefit the long term. We're starting to identify which of our players will be here when this team reaches its final form.

I try to take wins and losses with a grain of salt and focus more on how our core guys are doing. Liked what I've seen from Bradley, Smart, IT, Crowder(Briefly), James Young, KO, and the Rookie Globetrotters.

The guys who have been the most suspect are also the guys who are most likely to be moved for salary matching in a trade in Zeller, Johnson, and Jerebko. Not thrilled with how the team looks so far but just think it's hard to panic when you look at the direction of the rest of the rebuild.

Right now we're 30th in defensive efficiency, tied with Melo, Rose, and the Knicks.

Injuries or not, that is a very bad stat.

I doubt they'll reach 50. Injuries have revealed they have no depth up front. The backcourt continues to carry the team. But the Crowder/Horford injuries, and Smart before them, have killed their chances for a fast start.

Which means we're gonna trade for him in a few years!
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Of course the Celtics are not the team we thought they were at season's start.

That team had Al Horford and Jae Crowder in its starting lineup.  This team does not.

Hopefully the team that plays in green & white in a week or two will again be the team that we thought they were at season's start.  That team should be pretty [dang] good.

Al and Jae were in the lineup in Chicago, yet we showed very shy and non-aggressive play against an mediocre team. What excuse can we add to that? That Marcus was missing? C'm n!

No Marcus, no KO, and new and young players just being brought together.

The C's aren't perfect, as their rebounding weakness shows--but they have yet to play a game with more than 5 of their top 7 players.

This is the team I thought Boston was going to be.  No real depth up front, no even good rebounders, no real scoring wing or big man, etc.  Obviously injuries have affected some of that, but Boston looks like the team I would have expected (accounting for the injuries of course).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Rebounding and wing scoring were expected to be issues.

Did you expect them to be a revolving door on defense?

The difficult thing is we have to wait for the key guys to be healthy AND we have to wait for them to get some experience playing together.

Could easily be the after the All Star break before we see the team really start to click.

Of course we all hope the team is peaking in April. But it might cost the team homecourt advantage in the first round.

I do not want to pass any judgment on this team till Crowder and Horford are both back. I will say that the loss of Sully is hurting this team more then I would have expected. DA will need to address the lack of physicality in the paint with a trade this season if the Cs are to make noise in the playoffs.

Even if the market doesn't percent an option for a star big there should be rotational level guys who are better fits then Amir and Zeller available.
