I'm not really sure why you guys think Amir sucks. He is what he is. A great role player. Now is he starting caliber? Maybe not. But he's serviceable enough that he can take enough of certain matchups. At 6'9, he's limited in being able to consistently shut down low post bigs, but he definitely does try his best. He never ever really gives up on a play, but like Josh Smith, he's showed clear signs of declining in age and athleticism which does limit his ability to contest, alter, or block shots.

As a team first guy, he's great at setting picks and screens, and does pick and roll, but again... He's very limited in what he can do.

A user above said we should start Zeller, and another user said that we're 2-1, and would've been 3-0, if not for some questionable officiating, to which both statements I wholeheartedly agree with.

We should give Zeller healthy minutes spread evenly with Johnson, Jerebko, and a few sent over to Mickey. I firmly believe Yabusele is going to end up as a special player, and he may even be our starting power forward in the future.

But we should at least wait a few more games before making such rash decisions on a short sample size.

If Amir could shoot the 3, we could justify starting him, but he just doesn't score enough to justify giving him starting minutes. He could set the tone at the beginning of the game, but I don't want him getting tired quickly.

Thread title is poopoo.

Amir definitely has his shortcomings, but he's pretty valuable..

Pretty sure he's no longer 6'9, but somewhere in the 6'11 neighborhood.

Didn't see a thread on it so I will elaborate.

-undersized
-poor defensive rebounder
-terrible shooter
-lacks IQ

He does/is a couple of things:
-athletic
-quick release around the basket
-decent offensive rebounder.

I hope Brad removes him from starting lineup permanently for either Zeller or even Mickey.

Until we get a true Center that can rebound we will be good, not great

The first 3 negatives on your list apply to most of the players on this team.

I too am offended someone is calling Amir poopoo. He had plantar fasciitis. He is much more effective now.

My own thinking is Amir and Horford are not the best combo. Maybe they can improve, but Olynyk/Horford, then Amir with either Jerebko or Zeller makes more sense.

Jerebko is too inconsistent. Zeller is so mediocre.

Maybe Danny will be forced to sign Zizac. We need Olynyk back asap.

Mickey is starting to remind me of RJ Hunter and James Young.
