I honestly expected much better from this Pacers team. Adding Thad Young, Big Al, and Teague looked great on paper. Maybe its still early on, but they look awful so far. Big Al doesnt even cut it as a bench player thus far.

I don't see Larry trading him even though Pacers keep struggling this season. PG is only 26 years old, hence that Pacers could still keep him around and try to rebuild through the draft and free agency.

They'll be fine. Their top dogs are producing, things will settle down for them.

Danny, you went out and got us some shooters...good job. Now we need big men who can rebound an clog the middle. PG would be great. However, he's not a priority.

I'm fine with getting him.  I don't consider him a superstar, though.

Yeah, people don't realize that he is not an efficient offensive player at all. He's a pretty similar player to Jimmy Butler; he's not on the Kawhi/KD/Bron level of elite wing.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

George is an efficient offensive player. He was one of 18 players to average 20 or more points on better than league average TS% last season. And he had one of the lower assisted percentages.

I don't get this notion that the Pacers are only PG13 and Turner.  Monta Ellis, Jeff Teague, and Thaddeus Young aren't exactly bums and they have Al Jefferson, CJ Miles, Rodney Stuckey, Lavoy Allen, Kevin Seraphin, and Glenn Robinson on the bench.  The Pacers will be fine, just some early season growing pains trying to incorporate the new players.

That's how I feel too. I was a little shocked at their losses, but it's likely just some growing pains like you said.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

That said, Indiana isn't going to trade him, but if by some miracle they do it would take at least both Brooklyn picks.  I might still do it because George would easily be Boston's best player and would take a lot of pressure off of Thomas and Horford.  It would probably mean you move Crowder though preferably for a big man.  Maybe something like this:

Boston - George, Noel, Covington
Indiana - Crowder, Johnson, BKN 17, BKN 18
Philly - Jerekbo, Joe Young, Bos 18, PHI 17 2nd

so Boston post-trade
PG - Thomas, Rozier
SG - Bradley, Smart, Green
SF - George, Brown, Young
PF - Horford, Olynyk, Covington
C - Noel, Zeller

That is a pretty solid team, which matches up a lot better with the premier teams, and could push the Cavs, if not beat them.

Again I can't see Indy trading George, but that is the type of package it would require and I'd probably do that trade.  Gives Boston a real direction and purpose.

George , Bradley , Horford , Smart , Crowder would be a nice group.

That's an all-time low "points allowed" team.

Yes, I think the same. I was just thinking they might test the waters with PG13 at the deadline to see what deals *could* emerge in his pursuit. They could always say "no" though.

Idk if the Lakers are that much better this season.. but Pacers really struggling against them today..

Subsequently, I still don't see Paul George leaving any time soon. It'll take at least the end of this year, to see where they stay with Teague, and if they even perhaps miss the playoffs.

The presence of Turner can change Bird's timeline and, as one of the GM's with the best job security, he can go through a rebuild, but Paul George is a talent that isn't traded unless it's abundantly clear that he's leaving at the end of a contract and is a nuisance (Carmelo Anthony). He's the Pacers' Pierce.

The last time a player the caliber of a Carmelo/D-Will was traded, the acquiring team had to give up prime assets regardless of the circumstances. Gallinari, Chandler, Mozgov, Koufos, Felton, and multiple future 1st and this was after Carmelo clearly stated that he wanted to go home w/ less than half of the season left. I don't recall the other pieces the Nets gave up for D-Will, but it started with that year's #2 pick in Favors.

Any package would include a mix of players and assets that fit Turner's timeline like Smart, Rozier, Brown, BKN and Celtics 1sts (keeping 1 perhaps 2 of those players/assets).

Pacers getting beat by the Bucks tonight.

Their defense has been really sub-par to start the season.
