I have been high on him throughout.  When many were saying he wouldn't even play I thought 15 mins at least was a lock.  But two wrinkles that have me more excited are: ball handling/play making and his post game.  He has been talking about how he idolizes TMac.  If Jaylen can handle the ball and pass, he can play SG, and at SG he can use a post game on smaller defenders which we have seen some in preseason.  The post moves are simple but effective and very in control.

his post move is something that I have noticed too, I think he uses it more than Smart does to his advantage. I believe he posts at least once or twice every game, and he has excellent foot movement in the post, I like seeing some of those

Well, he uses it more than Smart because he's a 6' 7" wing.  Rare a PG can ever spend much time posting up unless they are a truly tall PG and it makes more sense then.  Smart could do it a bit more, don't get me wrong, but makes the most sense for Brown to with his size.

But yes I agree with you.  His footwork is great.  The drop steps are crisp off of his fakes.

true that on the pg post, but yea the video was perfect, exactly what i wanted to find. Specifically speaking about the 3rd snippet during the Knicks game, I remember jumping out of my chair when he did that, that footwork looks amazing

His footwork is much better than i expected, he could earn steady points from the mid area post as long as stevens gives him the freedom. He got the post up call quite a few times in garbage time vs the nets but I feel he wasnt being physical enough to get into good position, that may be just because of his foul trouble however.

I don't want to flood the forum with Brown threads so here is something that just popped up in my feed

http://247sports.com/Bolt/Report-NBA-rookie-wants-top-recruit-to-go-to-Harvard-48215487

this is awesome! love the kid's answer -> education first, you don't have to choose one, you can do both! it's nice to actually see an athlete preach and live by getting an education and how important that is. I am willing to bet this kid will get a degree with in the next 3-5 years, take some summer courses or whatever. Very very mature at his age

Remember when everyone hated Danny picking Brown?
He's going to be an allstar.

Didn't hate the pick.  He was always in that #3-8 tier of prospects in this draft.  He fits what this team does because he gives us another athletic and versatile wing for Brad Stevens to plug into his system.

Of course Brown needs to learn to shoot, that was the big knock on him pre-draft.  But athleticism and size he has it in spades for his position.

I felt it was a risky pick, but the nice thing is that his body looks NBA-ready right now.  It's just his brain/mindset etc. that needs the training.  He needs to acclimate to the pro level.  But Stevens is smart and will put Brown in positions to succeed.

JB really is coming into the perfect situation for his development.  He's not expected to carry the team, but he has a coach willing to use him and develop him even though he is going to have growing pains as a rookie.

How's Ingram doing in LA?  We know Simmons is out for 3 months so he's probably out of the running of anything meaningful his first season.

yea it's awesome and I agree that Brad is putting him in a position to succeed, like in the preseason we are seeing him put into a situation in crunch time, and I think in my honest opinion he delivered, and he is aggressive, and makgin the right decisions...

I'm not the only one seeing this right? Most of his minute sin preseason came in the 2nd half and most of it down in crunch time

So far? Pitifully. 6 points, 1.7 boards, 1.3 assists on 32% from the floor, 33% from three, 45% from the line.

hes been bad so far, but it's not like they drafted him for immediate contributions. it'll take time, especially with a guy as young and thin as Ingram.

Didn't D'angelo Russell look pretty bad last year in summer league and preseason? a year later and he looks like a future superstar. The lakers arent trying to win now, theyre trying to develop a young nucleus that can win in 5 years. And so far, I think they've been very successful
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

hmm, idk. i was very high on him in the draft last year, so that might be a reason I think he will be a superstar.

Yeah, it's kind of tough to call him a future superstar when his first year was full of mixed results and his second year has not started yet...
