I think (and hope) RJ is safe, rollie.  Wide-ranging skill set, high BBIQ, longstanding familial relationship with Stevens, etc. should all bode well for him.  Don't believe Young has done enough this summer to supplant him, either.  And though the staff may disagree, imho RJ has more NBA-upside than Mickey.

I think  RJ 's versatility makes his safe, after all he can make passes as well.  Something Young cannot.

Both RJ and James have really stepped up their games this year. I'm wondering if letting Green go might be a good option. It's unlikely he's in the Celtics long term plans. And, it looks like Young might be just as good a shooter or better.  Anyone feel that might be a possibility?

I'm wondering as well.  If Ainge feels good about Young and RJ behind the scenes and they like what they have seen this preseason it's possible.

I have liked what I have seen of Green in preseason too though.  I find it hard to see how you could think either could contribute more than Green this year so it'd have to be a long term call more.  I could see it if they think this team will be willing to run small a lot too and they like Brown enough.

I don't see it being Mickey based on position.  It's a really tough call.

Honestly I think it's between Mickey and Jerebko. Possibly traded for a future 2nd rounder.

KO will be back soon, CBS have spoken about Jae and Jaylen at the 4 in addition to Amir with Horford... we're actually packed at the 4.

There is absolutely zero chance Jerebko gets cut.

Yeah not a cold chance in hell. I could see Jerebko being a Celtics long timer. The dude just comes in and quietly balls.

Young would be my guess. or possibly Mickey

i thought i just heard an analyst with jared weiss saying young was a better dribbler
wow i must have missed something as young is slow on break ,can't go right more than two dribbles right,no first step ,no explosiveness
unless i have retained that negative bias on his defense that flavors my judgement, this negative bias also extends to rj but rj has that length that is disruptive while  playing catch up and causes alot of deflections

,rj is a much better passer and young on surface looks better rebounder but i call that a draw
i keep hearing 3 and d player for young -gimme a break
these analysts must be visionaries i don't see it

its funny but it may come down to skinny legs

green is far superior for a contending team

i can't trust either of them,
i thought rj was going to be like prince
young has age  and will get bigger
who is easier to trade and who will do better with another year in maine

rozier looks the better shooter than these guys have shown
kelly is a better shooter from three, jerebko is a better shooter from three
all hunter has over others is deeper range and the willingness to shoot from there

Can't say I'd keep RJ for his defense. Yes, he does deflect the ball from time to time, but too often players waltz pass him to the basket. Young is more consistent on offense. He is going to score. Would not have said that last year.  RJ does pass better and opens up the game on the offensive end. Still a tough call for me.

No idea why anyone would think Green could get cut.  He was signed for the vet min to bring in some shooting and vet presence.  Why would he be cut now.

Very little chance for a 2-for-1 trade. All teams are trying to reduce their roster size.  Also little chance of a 1-for-pick trade.  If any team wants one of our end-bench players, they should just wait for them to get cut rather than trade away a pick.

I think Mickey goes, sorry to say.

Safe to say that Young won last night's matchup.  So I think it is up in the air who is ahead.

All 3 (with RJ) played well, but Mickey has had the least impressive pre-season, IMO.
