not pushing the pace, not sacrificing his body in the paint
letting horford and bradley work on their respective games
working pick and roll with horford
just being part of moving the ball
my question is during regular season and his points and stats are lower

with isaiah's focus on being an all star ,how will he react
previous squads isaiah was the main scorer, now horfords ability to be inside outside, bradley getting more well rounded and crowder shooting better
isaiah's touches and point production could drop off,

the celts  are televised 22 times and isaiah loves the spotlight  and  will isaiah then make the extra pass, will he not sacrifice life and limb against bigs, will he alter flow of game for the sake of points, take the quick three in transition and play for the all star ballots
-isaiah is playing it cool right now
but expect the minute the lights go on that isaiah transforms to his aggressive taunting in the lane that humiliates the bigs and the pulling up for dagger threes in transition-the show-the win
 that is isaiah

IT will be the Paul Pierce of this iteration of Celtics and Horford will play the KG role in the court.

Why suffer limbs and fingers anyway on useless preseason games when the king himself lequeen james isnt even playing.

Preseason is different for every team and player. IT and those type don't really need it while the Rozier's of the league can't get enough. Same as true for teams like Cleveland don't need it and Philly needs 80 games. I'll be happy when it's over and we kick the Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. out of the Nets on opening night.  ;)

People are overeacting about IT.

Also he is not playing by the 4th.  I don't know how many games in green for IT there have been where I go into the 4th saying "he has not been that good" and by the end of the game he has 20+ pts.  He is a closer.

Smart should get the start next game to see how he gels with the 1st unit. ITs defense has been horrible.

IT is no PP and Horford is no KG.

Though I dont advocate this, it would be worth a discussion. I mean, with Al here and Jae/Avery improving, the offense has improved significantly enough to warrant an plus-defender at the pg spot.

I still think it's funny that there are numerous CBers who are fine with Smart laying an egg offensively "as long as he brings the defensive intensity" but find it not okay if IT scores 20+ without playing much defense. Or, to couch it in terms of an awesome algorithm I came up with:

Great D + Bad O = Awesome
Great O + Bad D = Terrible

Inherently, it's easier to play around a single bad offensive player than a single bad defensive player. The only exception is if the offensive player is amazing (Harden, Steph, Kyrie). Plenty of examples around the league.... Kevin Love in crunch time, Enes Kanter, Jamal Crawford, etc.

There's a reason why those guys are on the bench during key moments while Tristan Thompson, Andre Roberson, and MBah A Moute were on the court.

Can you guys agree that the success of this season rests on Isaiah's shoulders? He is our starting point guard in a point guard-driven league. I feel like he never gets the proper allocation of love... people gush about Smart more than the guy who got us back to our winning ways.

so has it been decided that we dont have to worry about his lackluster preseason thus far? he averaged around 13 ppg last preseason, although that was with him as a 6th man while starting a few games too. he played 6 out of 7 preseason games last year.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Isaiah has not been that good. I think this is a version of Iverson's "You're talking about practice?" Substitute preseason exhibition games for practice.

Isaiah's the kind of player who gets banged up with his style. Tiny Archibald used to always hit the deck a lot and get up with no problem. Hopefully Isaiah can keep it together. He has superstar power on offense.

Now if Isaiah is in a rut, I hope he is mature enough to not pout if he's benched. We're going to need a San Antonio styled attack. They had to manage their older guys.

I think Horford and Amir are around 30 and Isaiah 27ish.

They are still relatively young, but we will need them at full strength in the playoffs to have any chance at the Cinderella finish.
