looking at the McGee signing for the GSW made me think, what team made the best signing of this type all time

for the celtics as far i can remember we had some guys over the last few years, none of them really panned out as a high reward material, Marbury for example.

In recent years it has to be Hassan Whiteside to Miami, right?

If by low risk you mean financial costs then I reckon Wgiteside fits.

Shaquille O'Neal

When he signed with us? It was until Danny traded Perk... still mad about that one.

Shaq, beast to start the year but then gave up after he was injured.

yeah Whiteside is clearly the most recent guy that fits that.

Evan "The President" Turner.

I really miss him and his quotes. I know we don't do video tributes to guys who haven't won a championship here, but I really want us to treat him well when the Blazers come to Boston.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I think this is slightly awkwardly worded. When Bron went to Miami I saw no real risk for Miami, but tons of reward. But I don't think that's what this means

yeah I took it to mean a guy that bounced around awhile and you got cheap that ended up great.  Not things like Shaq to LA, Lebron to Miami/Cleveland, etc.

I mentioned Whiteside, but I think Chauncey Billups in Detroit is another good one.

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
Kinda surprised to not see John Starks' name come up so far.  He made an All-Star game, an All-Defensive team, and 6th Man of the Year for the Knicks after being out of the league.

Whiteside's got to be up there. Even if you're not a big a fan of his (I'm not), Whiteside blossomed from a minimum guy to a max player. It can't really go any better than that.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.
