annnd embiid's hurt

is this serious?
He came up limping, but apparently it was nothing.  He's continued to play for a few possessions.   Just hit some free throws.

Assuming health, this Embiid cat might wind up being pretty decent.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Jaylen needs to take a lesson from Isaiah on how not to get the Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. blocked out of him.

He's showed a little of everything so far.  Strong defense, strong post moves, nice range, strong rebounder, decent handles.  Already getting double-teamed.

Biggest surprise is that he doesn't have more fouls.  That's usually the hardest thing for bigs to adjust to in the NBA.  Really solid debut for a guy who hasn't played competitive basketball in like 3 years.

Missing Turner in our second unit. Hopefully President Brad Stevens challenged our 2nd unit to play exclusively half court offense. It's strange seeing the starters outrun the 2nd unit.
My biases, in order of fervor:
Pro:
Smart, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, Grant Williams, Sleepy Williams, Edwards!

Anti:
Kanter, Semi, Theis, Poierier

I thought his handles were a little questionable. He also seems a little slow afoot.

My stream got cut off when Jaylen was with the starters. What happened after that? We were in a drought before that.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

He brought the ball up the court one possession.   He's struggling with double-teams right now, but that's something they can work on.  He seemed a little gassed towards the end of the 2nd quarter.   It will be interesting to see him mid-season if he stays healthy until then.

Can't see the game but I've seen some gifs of Embiid looking pretty solid.  Who's doing well on our end?

Took me over half of the game so far to find a passable stream, but here is my big takeaway from the second quarter.

1. Horford is money, doing everything. Love it.

2. Our bench was struggling to score, although I liked Browns hard attack on the closeout.

3. Embiid is massive and skilled. He looks like a panicked deer in the head lights when doubled, but you basically need to double him. He looks pretty fluid, and he drained that one bucket when amir fouled him. Since I hate Philly I hope he is awful and doesn't reward the process, but for the league, having someone like Embiid become amazing would be awesome. It would help bring back the center position.

Horford.  Crowder.  Bradley.   Thomas was intentionally letting others get involved, but he looked fine.

Smart and Rozier still don't look like they can shoot.  Jaylen has a gorgeous fade-away, but then failed to finish on a couple drives.

Horford, Crowder, Bradley. IT is a bit rusty from the field. Bench looks not very good, though Jaylen showing some nice moves.

Our starting 5 look like they are clicking on all cylinders. IT + Al have some synergy. Starters pace was excellent and they shot the ball well.

Second unit looks fantastic on defense, but predictably weaker in the half-court without ET. Zeller shoots every time he touches the ball. Jaylen has tried to be aggressive and nearly posterized Embiid. Smart's been solid but not great offensively. Rozier has looked bad.
