sully is running and rebounding-we are going to miss the in shape sully
-he is grabbing all the boards and backed down defender getting separation and hit the fall away-vintage sully

He was also 0-3 from the 3.

For his sake maybe he got the wake up call he needed to continue and improve his nba career.  I for one wish him well but fine with letting him go.  He had enough time with the c's and simply didn't show enough work ethic or discipline.

He worked. He just ate too much

If he is going to eat 10 big macs after a game. Just make sure to go for a brisk walk after. Instead of melting to the sofa playing video games

That must be quite a brisk walk!

That is what he provided for Boston and Boston will clearly miss it.  No one on the team right now is as good a rebounder or low post scorer as Sullinger.  Can't believe we let him go for what he ended up signing for.  Real mistake.  Should have gone with him over Zeller without question.

yeah that was surprising to me too. i liked sully a lot. its a shame it didnt work out in the end. i would have loved to have sully on this team over zeller (yes, even a fat sully). i just hope he doesnt figure out his weight stuff now that he has left boston. watch him average 15 and 10 and become an all star or something now. smh
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I like Sullinger, but he had issues with his work ethic. Not surprising he was let go for a better player in Al Horford.

I haven't seen any reporting on this but I have to think that Sully and his agent told Ainge they were not interested in a Zeller-type deal where he would essentially be a trade chip fighting KO for minutes off the bench.

Imagine if we only win 35 games this year, and it's all because Sullinger was gone. He was the real reason we were so good.

Actually this celtic team as it stands right now, could use a solid rebounder, and a big body to lean on bigs that like to hang around the basket. When Sully came into the game the opposing team mostly stopped stealing offensive rebounds.

I didn't anticipate the re-signing of Zeller, frankly I would rather have Sully.

He had signed the qualifying offer.  Boston didn't have to do anything else.  Boston let him go.  So he didn't have to sign a Zeller type deal, Boston could have just kept him on the QO and waited to see if another team made a better offer and then decided what to do.  That is the problem I have with not bringing him back.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Eh, even at that low cost, it might not make sense to keep him with how many bigs we already have. That would've then put us at 6 bigs that could deserve some sort of minutes - Horford, Amir, KO, JJ, Sully, and Zeller. I believe Brad just wants that four man group of Horford, Amir, KO, and JJ to take the majority of the big minutes, let alone when we go small with Crowder at 4, so keeping Sully even at that low cost might not have been beneficial and could have only led to locker room/playing time issues.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I keep saying that maybe Sully didn't WANT to stay at that lower price and maybe we weren't ready to extend his contract. It's also possible he just wanted a change.

IMO we asked him to wait for '17 offseason to see if we can get a major player and pay him after that like Danny always does, but he wasn't having it and we moved on.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

the problem is you can't sign him to anything long term even if he produces all this year
-how could a GM feel safe
-i like sully but he now plays for a rival to our position for playoffs
'll root for toronto only when they play the nets or a team that is in competition for last place-

don't be terribly shocked if Sullinger ends up averaging 15-20 points and 10+ rebounds one year.   He's got the talent to do it.  His problem here was motivation and attitude.  He's still only 24 years old.
