He has certainly gotten rid of how far he brought the ball down which was one of his biggest issues.  If you bring the ball far down you are adding so much unnecessary motion to a shot and that means a greater chance for something to go wrong with any given shot.  It also makes it a quicker shot, which is of course nice, but secondary to having less movement.

Cool I guess. But it's pretty much put up or shut up. Nothing else really matters.  And no, I don't really think it's going to make much of a difference.

Besides, my 12 year old can go a minute without missing in an empty gym.  Not too impressed by that kind of thing.

His shot looked great in the green/white scrimmage.  I think he was 2 of 3 that I remember?  Don't know if there are stats for the game.  The one I remember him missing was well beyond the three point line.

I don't see how anyone can knock marcus for this.  He's putting in the work and willing to adjust his shot.  He's a very fixable player offensively.  Different between hitting a few shots in a row and putting in work all summer where he could really concentrate on that which apparently he has. That stuff pays off.  All signs point to Marcus having a big year.  As long as he is comfortable with it. Marcus starts hitting shots with consistency that's another weapon we didn't have.

He has to do it in games but Marcus is a leader to me.  Difference between a good one and a great one is what he's doing.

We have a lot of players who work hard where we don't rest on one guy but trading Marcus is still the ultimate mistake to me.

In all seriousness, my kid is a competitive player.  And he'll probably never touch a college scholarship, much less the nba.

The point is, people get impressed when they see guys shoot in an empty gym because they have no idea how good players are.  So a minutes worth of shots isn't impressive at all.  I guarantee you he was doing that before this summer.

I am the first to tell anyone that.  NBA players are lights out shooting around.  The point of this thread is not "wow look at how many baskets he is making" it's "look at his improved mechanics".  They are improved.  So you're not on topic.

The video of his shots was mentioned very early on.  So it's part of the topic.  And in terms of mchanics, who was the last player that drastically changed their shot and it actually worked out?  Most players that need to fix their shot in the first place have an uphill battle.  Odds are it won't matter that much in end.

Very good improvement.   Still bring the ball down (which I hope he can cut out eventually), but instead of "throw" shooting the ball,  there is now less overall arm movement and more wrist movement when shooting.  It is leaving his hands quicker too

Hoping he can eventually ditch the bringing the ball down , but for now this new shot of his should  help out his offensive game, FG percentage

this thing totally went under the radar, it makes me even more excited about Marcus. it was obvious that he had to change his catapult like shot, but it is so rare to actually see a player especially a guard to change his mechanics.
great job coaches and Marcus!!!

Without a dip its incedibley hard to have range, need some monster triceps are a whole whole of reps to not shoot with a dip

Smart's my favorite player on the team, but can we pump the brakes a little bit.

Maybe. .. billups , harden, ab etc. No dipping
And if they do you can hardly tell.
