I keep hearing about how stacked the 2017 FA class is, even with Westbrook resigning but, looking at the list, I can't be too hopeful:

Curry and Durant: Not going anywhere

Blake Griffin: Also a possible "get" if he decides to leave, I guess, but he will have teams begging to max him out.

CP3: Turns 32 in May. Are we really going to max him out? If so, we'd better win quickly.

Looks to me like Hayward is next on the list (I have him > Gallinari.). I'd certainly be happy to have Hayward, but was kind of hoping that next summer would be "the time" for Boston FA.

Yes, Hayward is the best.  I happen to think he's a great fit for the team's need of a primary scorer at the 3, so I'd be very excited by getting him.

I suppose people can hold out hope that Durant hate Golden State, but I personally am not.

He's also the best White American basketball player in the world. Say what you will but in Boston they would go crazy for him.

If we are lucky enough that he would leave the Jazz for the Celtics we should welcome him with open arms.

He's a more talented Evan Turner and we need offense. He makes the team deeper and Better.

We would just need Smart to pick up more PG duties.

 Thomas/Smart
 Gordon/Bradley

 Small ball

 Horford
 Crowder
 Hayward
 Bradley
 Thomas

Another small ball team All defense

 Horford
 Brown
 Crowder
 Bradley
 Smart

That comment is extremely outdated.

I don't think I want to spend our only max slot on a guy like Hayward, who, while a very good player, I don't think would be the best player on this team.  Not to mention the fact that the positions he plays already have good players (Bradley and Crowder) who cost way less

If we're gonna give someone a max contract this summer, it better be a big like Griffin (this is assuming that we don't make any other big moves before then, like adding Cousins)

I just don't see an IT/Al/Hayward core really contending for a championship
I'm bitter.

In what way? Just stating that he's the best American born player, (Not European) Its just a fact, that's all.

What if there is nobody else coming here in the next three years? Do you still not want him

Plus that opens up a potential bigger trade involving either Gordon, Bradley, Smart, Crowder, Brown, down the road without hurting our team as much.

Actually, that is completely incorrect....

I think at that point I'd rather either build through the draft or sign some Amir-type deals and wait until 2018 free agency.  There's no point in handicapping ourselves long term for a team that can make some noise in the playoffs but not truly contend.  Of course, I could be underestimating the impact Hayward would have (especially with the history he and Brad have together), but I don't think he's the missing piece
I'm bitter.

I find it sad and embarassing but I agree. Boston would love Hayward a lot more because he's white.

Can you guys give me a defensive player comparison to Hayward? Getting him I assume means he starts so obviously our defense takes a hit but how big of a hit is what I don't know.

Watch the highlights I posted rain the thread.

He's got good size around 6'6" and he's an underrated athlete, capable of chase down blocks. He's above average for sure.

Don't find it sad or embarrassing. In this P.C. world. There is nothing good or bad, only thinking that make it so. Shakespeare.
