Sounds like we weren't as far off in acquiring Gallo last trade deadline as originally thought. Denver management gave Gallo the opportunity to be traded to a playoff team and he declined...

In Denver I am very well, there was a chance last year to go to some other team before the deadline in February, but I refused. If I return to Italy would be back to Olympia but with the intention of winning, I don't like the idea of nostalgic revisiting

Furthermore it sounds like we were on the short list of teams that he would have been dealt too...

Our friend Laura Cristaldi referred us to this quote from Gallo in May

So Gallo was opposed to a possible move in February, when Clippers and Celtics showed a strong interest in acquiring his services .

" It made no sense to go at that time”

Interesting stuff, I mean honestly he can talk about love for the city all he likes, IMO he was in a nice situation, that maximised his talents and he was worried about what might have happened to his contract if he ended up in the new city. Think about what happened to Evan Turner when he was traded to the Pacers.

Could absolutely still see him as an option going forward.

At the time, I had a sneaking suspicion that a deal was going to happen. Gallo is the type of skills guy that Ainge would value in the right deal.

Not a cognitive thinker it seems.

In one of the Sportshub Interviews I heard Danny on, he mentioned the type of the player we were looking for and remember thinking that if you were talking about the available guys, he was talking about Danilo Gallinari.

4th quarter shot creation, can shoot the three, gets to the free throw line.

I got the impression it was non playoff team specifically NYK because he mentions winning is important and he hints at nostalgia of going back somewhere wouldn't drive him.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.

I am sure DA has been making inquiries. Maybe KO, Young and our first round in 18.

If true, that he didn't want to play for the C's as a playoff team, then f' him.  Off my radar list.

Does he have a no-trade contract? If not, how could he refuse?

Players/Agents have more control of trades than is contractually given. Likely they wanted to give him an out if he wasn't okay with the rebuild and phrased it like that. He opted to stay for now.
