I don't think it's as unfair as it sounds, especially for Pierce who joined a team with a 22ppg Antoine walker already there.

I think it is an unfair comparison as well. Sure Walker scored 22 per game, but that team that Pierce joined was still awful. Pierce got plenty of playing time and shots and not much of a leash.

For comparison, if you put Jaylen Brown on this upcoming season's Nets team, which is where he would have been if not for THE trade, Lopez would still get his 20 plus per game, but that team is awful. Brown would get a ton of court time and looks, and would be a top candidate for rookie of the year.

Unless Brown forces his way into the offense he's going to be behind IT,AB,Horford, and Crowder. But I still can see him getting to the 10 to 12 ppg range against the second units with limited minutes. 

Simmons will get enough minutes to get ROY, but Brown has all the tools that could make him a really good playing in the league in the future. No need to rush him, if in 3 years time he starts looking like a stud, I'd take that over ROY every day of the week.

I heard an interview with Butler about that and he said the kid was legit.

 It's funny how the rumor was #3 for Butler, but if Brown becomes as good as, if not better version of Bulter in a younger package, we'll be sitting pretty for a good long while.

At the start of his rookie season in 1998, Pierce was 21 and had played 3 seasons at Kansas.  Brown has 1 season and is only 19.  Pierce was the definition of NBA ready.  Walker was a chucker on a bad team.

Brown will be Brown, not as ready as Pierce, not chucking as much as Walker.

He does seem to be a diva and I much prefer Jaylens mindset to Simmons. In fact everything I've seen about Browns makeup has been really encouraging and i can't say the same for Simmons.

All that said, Simmons is one talented diva and talent wins in this league.

Jaylen has a Snapchat but I don't use snapchat, you can probably find more videos of him and Butler working out together on there or just hanging out (I'm pretty sure that country music video was first posted there). They have a few on IG, together and separately but you have to search through a lot of different people/trainers to find them.
