I feel like now is the time for waiting as Big333223 suggests.
I agree. Let the Big Sort begin. The roster is reaching critical mass.
Our FO (let alone the Clips) cannot know for sure what Brown's value is.
They're very certain of his market value - no doubt about that. But I think you mean his ceiling. As for that, the Boston FO places a high value on him - no doubt about that either. He's 19, on a rookie contract for some time, and has all-star upside.
The best time to have made such a trade was before draft night, now it seems unlikely.
Yes, unlikely. Given what he showed in Summer League play, a high level of return is available; but by the same token Boston is not likely to give him up without some pretty spectacular return.
Second, as Who suggested in the other thread, DeAndre is not a good fit with Horford.
That I don't get, and Who didn't offer any reasoning as to why he thought so. Horford is very versatile; Stevens told Chris Mannix that they could pair him with any of the other bigs. Hard to see how that would change with Jordan.
Fourth, why is everyone so sure that 2017 Brooklyn pick > Brown
Good point. Part of that is clearly that Brown has not won everyone over yet. Partly it's because, probably, that the grass always looks greener on the other side of the NBA lottery hill.
All in all, I find this trade very unlikely to happen whether it involves Brown and/or the Brooklyn pick.
Approaching zero, I'd say.
