Easy question: which currently active NBA players that are not on the team would fit the celtics best, culture wise? In other words: who are the most celtic non-celtics?

My top choices:

Paul George
AD
KAT
Kawhi
Jimmy Butler
Paul Milsap
Winslow

  • That's turrible
Taj Gibson
Bismack Biyombo
Jared Dudley

Not the most high profile players, but they play hard and have great character.

Intersting and entertaining topic, TP.
Agreed on the most of the players mentioned
Here are my picks:
Jimmy
Šarić (you will see what i mean)
Noah (IMO the highest in that regard)
Adams

He just retired from the Spurs. Duncan would have made a great Celtic.

A lot of good suggestions in this thread. I'll add Klay Thompson. He shows up, does his job, plays good D, and doesn't draw a lot of attention to himself except when he's going off for 40 points.

I've felt for a while that AD would make a great Celtic. Follow in the footsteps of Russell, Cowens, Parish, etc even though he is a very different player than those dudes.

Hayward
Dirk
Either Gasol
Conley (though not with that contract!)
Lowry
Robin Lopez

Just a few that come to mind.  All guys I think would buy into the team and culture and become fan favorites.

Culture-wise? It's got to be Kawhi. He's quiet, let's his play speak for itself, puts the team ahead of himself, puts defense first, and has awesome hair.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

What would make a Celtic player a true Celtic?
I think that would be the first question.
I'd say:
- selflesness
- competitiveness
- high basketball IQ
- respect for the past Celtics and team achievements, history
- and funny, not very athletic (very rarely great celts are high leapers or fast runners)

Tim Duncan was a guy I always thought would have been a great Celtic.
