They added the 2 worst starters from the GSW , and grossly overpaid for one (Barnes),  overpaid Dwight Powell

They have Justin Anderson at the SG spot and Dirk is back for another season or two

lineup

Bogut
Dirk
Barnes
Anderson
Deron Williams

Bench
Powell
Devin Harris
JJ Barea

yay or nay?

They have Wes Matthews at SG as well.

No. Too old and slow in today's NBA, especially out West. They would need Barnes to have a true break out season, which I don't see happening.

They look pretty similar to last year's team to me so I'd say they have a good shot at it.

Swapped Parsons and Zaza for H.Barnes and Bogut. Slight upgrades for Dallas.

Should be a lot better defensively with Barnes and Bogut. But is this the year the wheels fall off Dirk?
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger
PF: Pau Gasol/Al Horford
C: Yao Ming/Tyson Chandler

They should be better than last year so I would say so.

Parsons was recovering from an injury most of the year so, I think Barnes will be an upgrade over him, especially on defense.

Matthews came back sooner than expected from an Achilles tear and should be much healthier this year. He shot a career worst 38% from the field, that will improve back to his career average and he will help them a lot more.

They have one of the best coaches in the league I don't see them getting worse with better talent.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I don't think so.  I feel they made some moves but other teams to me improved more.  Dirk will always be able to hit shots but I think the rest of his game is going.  Next year I see worse defense, floor running and rebounding.  Age happens!

Dirk is Big Question #1. Big Question #2 is what Harrison Barnes looks like in Rick Carlisle's offense.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Wes Matthews was better, a full year removed from his surgery. So yeah, they'll win enough to scrape into the playoffs again.

they always make it with teams I think probably shouldn't (coaching/dirk). I think they make it because I really don't see enough teams getting better to push them out. I don't think OKC/Hous will be that good so that might take 3 different teams to push them out, I can only imagine Jazz being one and that's about it. Houston barely made it this season, I can't wait to see them. WC may be at a turning point where it won't have 8 really solid teams to make it and beat up on each other.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Barnes is overrated.  Another Jeff Green.  Mavs are in trouble if they are going to depend on him to be the main man

Carlisle always gets the most out of his teams, so I would say yes.

2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

GS
SAS
LAC
Portland
Utah
Houston
Memphis
Dallas

those would be my top 8 off the top of my head.

they are better than Phoenix, New Orleans, Denver, Sacremento, LAL, and OKC. Which leaves minny and thats it right? Minny could take a leap I suppose, but I expect Dallas to make the playoffs.

Depends on what Dirk has left. Depends on what magic Carlisle can summon this season.

I'd say yes, but it depends on how the rest of the conference is.
