Pretend Sam Hinkie's 2016-17 Philadelphia 76ers:

#PointGiannis
PG/SG Devin Booker
SF Danilo Gallinari
PF Amir Johnson
C Nerlens Noel

I NEARLY covered the full 22'9" to the three point arc with my first three picks (7'1", 7'3", and 7'4" wingspans) Thoughts? I've got one more pick this round. Can I start Johnson? Should I play Gallo as a stretch 4? Do I need a traditional point guard more or another big? I'm happy to return the favor.

Tough to play Amir and Noel together. Very little offense in that duo. And then you add Giannis who cannot shoot either. Hard to have effective spacing with that trio. So, I would be inclined to bring Amir off the bench.

I would go with a traditional PG over another big man and use Giannis as a PG on offense but have him defend SF or PF. I think it will be hard to find a big with enough offense to balance out your team. Easier I expect to find a quality option at PG who can defend and shoot. You can always go with a combo guard type rather than a PG. Or even draft a SF and slide Gallo to PF and keep Giannis at PG defensively. So, I think you could draft any position 1 through 4 and make it work so long as that player can shoot the ball.

I would avoid a ball dominant PG though. Need someone who is happy to let Giannis do his thing and then give Gallo and Booker plenty of touches as well. Decentralized playmaking (not PG-centric). More of a Derek Fisher type PG.

The Indiana Pacers use pick 5.14 to select Kenneth Faried to complete are starting 5.

Pg: rondo
Sg: Butler
Sf: Barnes
Pf: Faried
C: Gobert

I'm not liking the spacing this team can provide. Harrison Barnes seems to be the only reliable 3PT shooter in that bunch.

Faried would be a great option as a bench player. I have always loved the instant-energy he brings off the bench. Inspires the rest of his team.

Then find a PF who can shoot and start him to balance out the starting lineup.

Thoughts on my roster so far?
Reggie Jackson
CJ McCollum
--------------------------
Blake Griffin
Gorgui Dieng

It's good that you have added a somewhat known defender at the C spot.

Plenty of scoring from your squad, but I'm concerned defensively, especially on the backcourt with McCollum and Jackson not really particularly known in that department. Adding Dieng helps the defense a little bit, but you may need a piece that can defend the guards coming off the bench.

Then again, Reggie and CJ can just outscore the other back court, so there's that...

Yep, that will work.

Potential for a dynamite running team with Rondo at PG and H.Barnes at PF.

Good, well balanced team right there.

Plenty of capable ball handlers. Versatile defenders. Post scoring with adequate spacing to provide room to grow.

And now, add a late game performer. Love this squad.

The Memphis Grizzlies select Willie Cauley-Stein.
Oh, bummer ... only a few picks away!

I loved the idea of WCS backing up & playing alongside Anthony Davis. So much speed & length. Ah well.

Great pick.
Didn't want to clutter up the draft thread so I'll respond to this here.

Thanks! Even  though watching him play with Anthony Davis would have been fun. I'm sure learning from Joakim Noah will really help WCS.

I expect Sacto to play much better defense under their new coach. When this happens I'm sure WCS will be a big factor.

Well, at least I'm getting one of the three, not bad...

With pick 5.19 of the 2016 CB Draft, the Utah Jazz selects a guy who's solid on both ends of the court, and not only is underrated, but has been a CB Draft Favorite of GM Yoki.

Wilson Chandler

And he's ready to go this year.

Chandler did not occur to me. I like his game and the pick. He's healthy?

He missed the entire season last year, but from an article from The Denver Post on July 7th, he's been "cleared to play 5 on 5" since June.

http://www.denverpost.com/2016/07/07/wilson-chandler-denver-nuggets-hip-rehab/

He should be good to go this year. And if he is, he's a 14 ppg guy, shooting 34% from 3 and will provide solid defense from the SF spot.
