Made it little too personal.

Well now that they exposed their game plan of the Warriors to Durant, he'll tell it all to Steve Kerr and he'll redo his entire schemes against Boston.

And with the addition of Durant, Crowder is going to have a tough time handling him-- let alone dealing with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson and nutchecker Draymond Green.

The Celtics are designed to beat the Warriors, but it was fun while it lasted.  :-\

Love it. He has that old-school attitude and competitiveness that the NBA sorely misses.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I have no problem with the team sharing strategies with Durant; as others have pointed out, opponents eventually see all that stuff anyway—constant adjusting is a major part of all sports.

But I really like that Jae didn't pull any punches in that interview, which makes me like him even more. We need guys like that.

On a side note, I've often thought that there are so many NBA teams that really don't have hope (thankfully Boston isn't one of them), but if you'd told me a decade ago that Golden State and Cleveland were going to become the NBA's premiere destination teams (even if it lasts only a few years), I'd have called you crazy. So maybe there is some sliver of hope for other sports wastelands like Milwaukee and Orlando?

What the heck is wrong with Orlando? It is the 19th biggest metro area, has 66 million visitors a year, is 7th in the US in growth rate (compare that to places like Detroit and SLC), they have a young up and coming team with a great coach, the weather is awesome, and the fan base is supportive regardless of how they perform.

There are a lot of wastelands in this country - Orlando is not one of them - especially with the 17th largest metro area (Tampa) just down the road.

Edit: and I LOVE Crowder!

Here comes the circlejerk from the rest of the NBA community: why complain about giving away plans and plays and stuff if you knew there was a chance of him going to the team you're planning against?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Gawd, I absolutely love the character and persona of this team! Each one of our players has a chip on his shoulder, because they've all been counted out at one point or another in their lives. they use it as motivation in their games, too. After this whole ordeal, it couldn't be more apparent that we were wrong about Durant's character fitting here. IT, Bradley, Crowder, Smart, Amir, Rozier, Brown, JJ, and even Horford to an extent, all have this chip on their shoulder that they play with.

I can't wait until Golden State visits Boston! The Garden should be rocking!

I don't respect the move and i am glad that a lot of players around the league feel the same way.

  • That's turrible
There's some other good bits in the interview too. He talks about how he was p---ed about being one vote away from making an All Defensive team (I guess there's an incentive in his contract for that too). Also says he's content with what he makes right now with all these players getting paid bucku bucks. He basically said "We're all millionaires, so it doesn't matter."

This is the reason why when Crowder was traded from Dallas the knowledgable fans were really troubled. They liked Jae, and his hard edged game, and 100% effort. They knew they lost a warrior.

Got a brother-in-law who's a diehard Mavericks fan who can back this statement. He was not happy that they gave up Crowder but figured it was worth it to get Rondo.

Idiotic boys

But Curry and Thompson can learn all the secrets all they want.   They still wont be able to overcome AB on Curry. Smart/Crowder on Thompson

Lets go Jae! Would really hate to lose this guy in a trade.

Interesting thing, he said that those who showed up in the meetings were likely to stay long term. I know DA is a cold blooded trader but if Crowder is to be believed, that's a "core" of him, IT4, KO, Smart and Horford.

Just doesn't strike me as a sports town. And the Magic remind me of Amway, which doesn't really do it for me.
