Love me some PP, but I saw him in LA last year and he is absolutely shot. No gas left in the tank.

Yeah, he should have retired after 14-15, imo.  At least he could still play at that point :-\.

Fact. We aren't winning the chip -- if he demanded 20mpg at the vet min/max, I'd hand it to him.

He'd be great for Jaylen -- prob still fiddle with him 1:1 too.

Yeah, can we get him to work out with Brown in the offseason, lol?  Maybe Kobe, too.  He's not doing anything now, right, lol ;D?

Of course, he could just do what everyone who loves basketball has probably done at some point - go watch footage of your favorite players, although, in this case, Kobe and Pierce, and then practice it in your driveway, lol ;D. I've never understood why these players need to 'work' with guys, anyway.  I'm not saying that it couldn't help them, but it does sound kind of lazy, to me, especially when all they need to do is head on over to YouTube, haha ;D.

I think he might demand we not play him 20 mpg. His body cant handle that anymore.

I'm good either way. I know Beat LA pokes fun at the notion, but I genuinely do believe that kind of mentorship is and can be really valuable. I agree with the premise that guys in this era seem a bit more lazy / less focused, but learning the game directly from an idol -- who is showing a genuine interest in you -- is probably a big deal. James Young (like millions before him) is a good example of why mental make-up really does matter for pro athletes.

Actually I wasn't.  I was just joking about having him workout with guys like Pierce in the summer, but yeah, I agree, it'd be great if Pierce could do for Brown what he did for Wall and Beal, and, to a degree, like what KG did for Towns last year.  I still don't see anything wrong with my YouTube approach, though, haha ;D.

Foshio. And I've restricted my Youtube viewing to videos of "Jimmy/James Young," for the moment, following your contribution to the JY thread.

It would be nice to have Pierce mentor Jaylen Brown.  Brown's ability to get to the line reminds me of Pierce.  He could learn some things.

Plus, there would be something really cool about Pierce mentoring (one) result of us trading him.

Regardless of the sentimentality, it seems like it would make sense. He could teach Jaylen Brown a lot about footwork, timing, changing speed etc.. Trade James Young or throw in a second round pick.

Any other 3-spot FAs who someone could suggest?

Flip him to the Nets for their 2019 and 2020 first-rounders.

I'm all in, but your ˝return˝ is not what I consider ˝return˝. It just can't be about basketball point of view, only sentiments, leadership, support. And, my answer is YES! I don't actually think there is anybody to say NO.
