Alfred "Lord Tennyson" Horford

Horford will be, but people won't realize it.

I agree 100% with this.   Horford might end up increasing the easy looks for IT and end up helping him score more, but I think horford is now our best overall player.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Our best overall player will be Horford. IT will be our best scorer but Horford's two way influence will be pretty huge.

Spacing on offense hitting shots that Sully didn't always hit and his defensive impact around the basket will be the best since KG's reign.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Thomas is the captain of this team and best player on this team.
Horford is the second best player on the team.

Isaiah. The effect he has on our team cannot be emphasized enough. Without him, we are SO bad lol
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Okafor baby.
I'm hoping he comes back with a better jumper, better left hand, and more physically mature. Plus a year of experience under his belt and I am willing to bet he does very well defensively against other 5's, should be much better, even pretty good, at rotations in the paint/lane.

He would be lucky to be on such a good team so early in his career and we would not overplay him like Philly for long stretches.

Also our team has 1-4 3pt shooters that could be up there for best in the league in that regard. Okafor teamed up with our 3pt shooting and defense would help us pick teams apart...especially with his iq and passing ability. But we could stretch the floor while also keeping the defense honest, resulting in cuts and easy layups and assists.

IT
AB
Crowder
Hortford
Okafor

w/ Jaylen Brown KO Rozier and etc coming off the bench

Marcus Smart would probably be in the trade to get Okafor. It would be amazing if it only cost Marcus Smart.

Thomas will put up the best stats but Horford will be the most important player on the team....

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Pretty clearly IT and I am surprised to see other people say otherwise. Horford will be a great fit in our system, but IT will likely score around 8-10 PPG more and that matters since nobody else on our team is a go-to scorer.

I know we are all convincing ourselves that Horford is amazing and I am happy with his signing and with the versatility he brings, but I expect him to have a Crowder like impact - which is very good, since I considered Crowder a close second to IT last year.
