Isaiah was 17th in the League in 3pt made with 167 at a .359 clip. He is our best "shooter"

Horford (88) made more 3pt shots than Olynyk (85) in 15/16. To be a shooter you need volume.

Olynyk was injured.

zero, the answer is zero.

Horford is not a shooter. he's like everyone else on the roster - he can hit outside shots occasionally.

I agree, the answer is zero. Ainge keeps saying how we need to add shooting, but he hasn't addressed this at all yet.

Apparently by this board's definition of shooters, there are only about 20 in the league, since even Olynyk doesn't count and neither does Bradley.  By Celticsblog definition there may have been two shooters who were unrestricted free agents.  We went for Durant and missed.  The other is JR Smith.

Since the topic is shooters, I saw today that Steve Novak is still in the market. Would make sense for us to get him ?  He could come for cheap, is a good locker room vet, wouldn't cause any trouble for lack of playing time. Can hit the 3 pointer and get minutes as SF or PF. What do you guys think ?

Being a good shooter is irrelevant if your defense isn't good enough for you to see the floor.

I know his defense is bad, I was just wondering if he could be like that bench player that comes to play 5 minutes when we are down just to try and knock down some 3's to reduce the point deficit. Just a limited situational player, not like a real rotation player to average 20 minutes per game and limit our young players' developmente

He's had major problems the last couple years staying healthy enough to even give you 5 minutes.  Back problems I think.  Seems more like a post-deadline free agent signing if he's healthy and there's roster space.

I don't think the Celts have any true deadeye shooters, the kind of guys who get all kinds of defensive attention even when their shot isn't falling.

Bradley, Olynyk, Horford, Jerebko, Thomas are all pretty effective shooters when they're open, though.  As long as the Celts are able to create openings for spot-up shooters, they should be able to punish opponents from range.

Yeah, I don't know why everyone is so wierd about this topic, It's not like we are the Warrior's or anything.

We're just talking about pace and space and the fact that we have a multitude of guys that are capable shooters who can create space for The little guy, Brown, and Rozier.

KO played in 69 games. Yes, he had less minutes. My point is that the volume isn't there yet. You can't just plug a guy in for 36 minutes and expect his Per 36 to just show up.

Can you make an argument for him being a reliable shooter in this league with what he has done so far?

Na, Shaq , ET was the opposite of a shooter. He was a scorer 15 feet and in.

I'll clarify a shooter on our team is a player where I don't cringe when they are taking a three.

Last year Turner, Smart, wer stomach Turner's.

We have quite a few guys that shoot a good %.

Jonas is well above .400% from three the last
 two years.
 Kelly very good %
 Thomas solid, high volume
 Hunter awesome when open .460%
 Crowder ok .336%
 Bradley.        .367% good
