I have seen some really great posts on here over the years highlighting some players that looked absolutely dominant for the Celtics in summer league and turned out to be awful players that never made an impact (or even played) in the NBA. Do people forget Jonathan Holmes was our third leading scorer in the Utah summer league last year (and 3rd leading rebounder).  Heck James young averaged 12.5 and 5 in vegas. I think it might be good for the collective sanity of the board to have one of our posters do a refresher course on some guys that looked awful in summer league and turned out to be pretty good players (and vise versa)

I would also add that if we are truly Celtics fans we should maybe put a little more thought into what we are writing about these 19 year old kids after literally a game and a half of a summer league game. Like it or not, Brown is now a Celtics and he should be given a chance to get acclimated to the NBA. Saying he shoots poorly or looks lost on defense, seems harmless, albeit not much more useful than commenting on how a team plays zone defense in a YCMA game. However, calling him a bust or saying he sucks right now makes us look like an ill-informed and unpleasant fan base to attach these kinds of labels to a player without even have him go through a traininig camp. Believe me, if he doesn't work out there will be plenty of time for those kinds of comments. In the meantime lets try and step it up a little bit and not have these crazy reactions and insults from glorified pick up games.

Edit:

The 2014 Vegas Summer league scoring leaders were

Glen Rice Jr.   WAS   25.0
Tim Hardaway Jr.   NYK   22.8
Jordan McRae   PHI   21.0
CJ McCollum   POR   20.2
Tony Snell   CHI   20.0

Of those 5 clearly McCollum is a stud, but the rest have very doubtful NBA futures.

Here were the leading rebounders

Cole Aldrich   NYK   15.0
Jerelle Benimon   DEN   11.3
Miles Plumlee   PHX   11.0
Gorgui Dieng   MIN   10.2
Josh Davis   CHA   10.1

2014 Orlando Summer league scoring leaders

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope   DET   24.0
Casper Ware   PHI   19.0
Donald Sloan   IND   18.5
Mason Plumlee   BKN   18.0
Kelly Olynyk   BOS   17.5

2013 Vegas scoring leaders

Dwight Buycks (TOR)23.0
CJ McCollum (POR)   21.0
Jeffery Taylor (CHA)   20.3
Andrew Goudelock (CHI)   19.0
Jonas Valanciunas (TOR)   18.8
