Eh, sometimes that's true, but other times it isn't. For example, the Brooklyn trade was talked about a day or two before it actually happened, but it did t really pick up steam until draft day itself.

I expect some more moves. I think that doesn't make sense we add a 30 year old all star big man and then wait for the BKN picks turn into good players. By the time this happen he will be 34 years old.

I feel like if Ainge decided to give a max contract to a 30 year old guy, he will turn the ship to go all in into contention. Probably is gonna trade 2 good first round picks and 2 young guys for a star.

I think it's a good plan. You make a big deal trying to reach at least the finals, but keep some picks in case your strategy doesn't work.

There's rarely chatter from our end, but there have been leaks about deals that did in fact go down - the Doc and KG/Pierce deals being the biggest recent examples.  I think we only leak strategically when we're trying to pressure someone or drive up their price.

You sign Horford because you need to upgrade your overall talent level, it gave you a legit shot at Durant, and with the exploding cap you really have to spend that money. He's moveable later if you wanna go a different direction.

But in this cap environment, it makes no sense to not sign a player like Horford if you have the chance. It doesn't mean we're committing to dumping the asset chest to go in "win now" mode. It makes it easier to do that if you can, but Ainge won't just sacrifice the future because of Horford unless he knows he's building a real contender.
