What a class act.  What a classy retirement.  The game will sorely miss the Big Fundamental.

He was one of the biggest class acts to ever play and he will definitely be missed. He was the anti-Kobe for sure. I will never forget that he was supposed to be in Celtics green though...what a heartbreak that lottery drawing was...In an alternate universe, the Celtics just retired Duncan's number and banners 17-23 are hanging in the rafters 8)

One of the all time greats, so fundamentally sound and a nice guy you never hear ill about.   He should have been a Celtic!

Great player, all time great.  Classy guy in an era of too many jerks.  NBA will miss him.  Even did the anti Kobe in retirement.  What a Celtic guy!

Timmay! he was better than some of these other jerks.  The media loves controversy and highlight reel dunks. Timmy was none of that.

The guy was an absolute legend of the game. Never wanted attention and let his game do the talking, went out on his own terms.

Timmy retired just how most expected. Spurs issued the statement - nothing from him personally. So many players could learn from how he conducted himself.

Farewell to one of the best that has ever played the game of Basketball;

I hope there is another Tim Duncan.  I love players like this.  Russell was the same sort of guy.  Players like Duncan are becoming more and  more rare.

Truly the anti-Kobe. Class act. Still hurts we missed out on him in the draft.

  • That's turrible
I'm watching Pop's interview about Duncan retiring. He seems quite sad. Like he lost his best friend. That's when you know they're just so tight not only as coach and player, but as general friends. God, this is making me sad just listening to him speak about Timmy.
