Silver lining: Nader and people trying to mail it in on Brown after his 3rd summer league game

Mickey and Hunter have looked solid in this game, at least. This SL has helped to vindicate ainges draft last year.

I disagree on Mickey.  I've been unimpressed.

Same, but the box score says he has 18 points :o. How and when the hell did that happen, lol?

The forum is a bit bipolar at times.  If he hits a shot or dunks it they'll come back around

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Chriss is a freak athlete but basketball wise he's dumb as rocks.

I said it before but I reeeaally like Nader.

I've been impressed. College senior, so he should look decent, but he's more athletic than I'd have guessed for a 23 year-old 58th pick.

I like what I see in Brown.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

If you said to yourself after the first game "Wow, look at JB's aggressiveness. Kid is gonna be really good." And then changed that too "I gotta say I'm not really high on Brown right now". You probably shouldn't watch SL.

There's almost nothing you can take from watching these games. Very few skills or stats are translatable. Brown's explosive first step and athleticism is something you can take from it. Don't put so much stock into this joke of a competition.

Starting to get more and more upset that we didn't take Dunn...21 points, 9 reb, 4 assists today.  His first game was arguably even better.

Hield had 21, 7 and 2 today as well - poor shooting percentages, but he's getting baskets.

I'm willing to put faith in Brown, he has a ton of talent - hope he doesn't prove me wrong.

I mean, he's like three years older than Brown and was the most ready prospect in the draft. He's supposed to come out and do that kind of stuff in the summer league.

Not really...

Everyone considered Okafor to be NBA ready, and he wasn't as good in summer league as Dunn.  Smart wasn't nearly as good, and he was also supposed to be very NBA ready.

Hard to disagree - Dunn was also my first choice. At the very least, morale would be higher since we would be getting immediate results. Having to stay patient and hoping your high end prospect works out is really difficult.

Agreed - though I know Brown is only 19 and that he was always known to be pretty raw, so I'm going to stay positive.

But It was so obvious that Dunn was going to be a standout in this draft - every sign pointed that way and it seems the signs were not lying.

Are you arguing that Dunn wasn't more NBA ready than Brown, or that more NBA ready players don't generally do better in summer league? Because I think you'll find both are wrong (although circumsantual evidence may support either one)
