I hate vucevic... I would be sooo mad if Danny did this trade. Now I know that I am probably biased because Smart is by far my favorite player, but I just don't believe Vuc is an impact player. He is a stats guy and has never brought his team to the playoffs despite having so much talent. Remember last year when Orlando has Payton, Oladipo, Harris, Vuc, Gordon, and Hezonja. They had much more talent than us with just Thomas, Crowder, and Bradley but we finished with a better record than them. The clutch gene is something that I value very heavily, and I see it in a lot of our guys(Smart, Rozier, Crowder when not injured) and really the only player on the magic that I think might have the clutch gene is Hezonja. I know Vuc hit two game winners last year, which is very impressive, but I have seen him choke in crunch time a lot more than he has came through in the clutch which is a big concern for me if I am going to trade Smart for him. I also don't think he makes a difference as much as Smart does in just his sophomore season even though his stats are A LOT better, especially after we just signed Horford. The reason why I hate Vuc with a passion is because I often see people saying that he should be an all star because of his stats when he really doesn't make a winning impact on his team imo.
That's only "more talent" for people who think Oladipo and Harris are some type of studs. In fact, three of the four best players in that list of 8 are probably on the Celtics.

If they are making a move with Smart, it's going to be an All-Star.  The only way they move Smart, is if they are getting Westbrook or Cousins back imo...

You have a conflated opinion of Smart.

I am talking about the 2014-15 season when Crowder came off the bench and avged 10 ppg and Oladipo was putting up 18, 4,4 and almost 2 steals. That magic team had the talent to make the playoffs, but my point is Vuc does not impact winning as much as Smart does
Warning: I am a Marucs Smart homer

You mean the year when their starting PF averaged less than 4 rebounds?

It is kinda hard to rebound when your role is to literally spread the floor and shoot 3's, but but its not like that was the reason why they did not make the playoffs. They just can't finish games

There's zero chance we move Smart for Vucevic, but this could definitely Danny planting seeds in Philly's head that if they don't send Okafor to Boston soon, the chance will vanish.

Good pressuring Danny :)
There's zero chance that the Magic will just give away Vucevic for Smart. In the ICYMI department, the kid averaged 18.5 and 10 for the past 2 years and is just 25.

Also, they have zero reason to trade Vucevic; Biyombo will be coming off the bench.

You're right, they probably wouldn't considering their guard rotation is stacked, but Danny wouldn't waste Smart in a Vucevic trade.
Big men that average 18 and 10 on terrible teams heading into their 6th season aren't highly coveted.

Smart has played 2 seasons and is already an All NA caliber defender and will be highly coveted in trades for real stars or potential stars.
You can't waste him on a mediocre center like Vucevic.

Given Okafor's age and post game, he's a far better target for trading Smart (plus other things) to fill the gap at center.

Okafor = franchise potential big man.
Vucevic= nice starter who scores with high usage, will never be a star.
Smart= Bench player who can't beat out Avery Bradley, may soon be behind Terry Rozier!!

Im no linguist, but I dont think conflated is the word you were looking for there.

I don't believe sites like these.  They just come up with rumors. But Orlando wanted Crowder when we were after Tobias Harris.  DA didn't want to trade Crowder at the time.  Now that we have Brown he might.
