Today's Herald has a real good article about how Jaylen Brown was offered a full ride to Georgia Tech in 8th grade, because the coach observed his work ethic, and talent.  Good read. I like this kid more every day.

Yeah, I'm impressed too.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

that was a great read, a few quotes stood out to me

Quote
“I’ll tell you one thing: he called me up and said, ‘Hey, BG, I just want to let you know I appreciate everything, but I’m going to leave the state to go to school. I haven’t made a decision yet where I’m going to go, but I wanted to let you know,’ ” said Gregory. “And it’s amazing how few kids do that. You can recruit a kid for a long time, but there’s hardly any who will call you and tell you they’re going somewhere else. You find out on Twitter.

I know his skills are there but I think this speaks high of his character. Definitely very mature for his age.

and then this

Quote
“He just has the aura around him that he knows he’s good, so he’s got confidence. But he’s never satisfied with where he’s at.”

Jaylen Brown wasn’t satisfied with being an eighth grade basketball star, and after a few days around him at summer league, it’s clear that he’s not satisfied with being the third overall pick in the NBA draft.

I definitely feel we found a gem

I saw one report saying everything checked out and he will play tonight. I read another report that said he was fine, but he may be held out of tonight's game for precautionary reasons.

Yeah, I read the one that said he might be held out.  I'm hoping not, since he really is the biggest reason for me to watch these games.

Himmelsbach reported yesterday - Brown most likely won't be playing tonight as a precaution.

not bad as a precaution, keep him fresh for the Vegas league, much more games to play, no point in rushing him back for games that are meaningless.

Love it. Can't wait to get this kid's jersey! The more I read about him/watch him play, the less awkward it feels to see him wearing #9
