It seems like there is a bit of collective amnesia about our trouble actually putting the ball in the bucket. We were 24th in the league in E fg%, just ahead of Philly.

Horford will help, but the loss of Turner will hurt.

I'd be interested in Brandon Rush, for example -- he might be helpful doing for us what he did for the Warriors -- shooting 3s off the bench.

Kevin Martin might also be able to do some of what Evan Turner did on offense, if he has anything left. Who else do people like?

Here's a list:

God no.

This team needs to blend established players and youth. Keep things exciting and still develop the young guys to be stars. I'm all set with the current roster.

IT/Rozier/Jackson
AB/Smart/Hunter
Crowder/Brown/Young
Ko/JJ/Bentil
Hordford/AJ/Mickey

Let Rozier, Smart, and Brown really grow off the bench. I wish the team had a better longer term PF prospect but Bentil and Mickey may fill in some mins there.

Stash Yab, Thornton, Zizic, Nader

Only because Brad Stevens is the coach, would I suggest taking on Michael Beasley as a project. The offensive talent is there. He has great post awareness. Just needs the right environment to inspire him. I think if any coach can maximize his talent it's coach Stevens.

I'd rather see Zizic in there than Bentil this year, but otherwise I'd be good to go with that, barring some upgrade that Danny swings.

I like TS% better than eFG% but no real matter here. Only MS and JS were worse than ET on that front, among the rotation players, last year. So it is hard to argue that losing him will set the team back in that area. Losing ET (and JS) should actually help the team on that, unless Brown plays big minutes with even worse numbers.

I'd switch AJ and KO but aside from that I'm with you. I could see a consolidation of two edge guys into a backup PF on a rookie contract if one is available. I'd be happy to leave as is now though

Beasley has character issues, I have always heard.   Martin's shot is so dang ugly.  I hope we do not sign these guys or if we do it is a 1+1.

What is left on the scrap heap of free agents in a position of need? I looked through the players and nothing jumps out at me. I think we need to trade for a Philly big or perhaps B lopez of the Nets? Not even sure if that is possible with salaries but there are many experts on this blog that can possibly answer that.

I'm OK to roll with this roster.  The AJ/KO positioning doesn't really matter in Brad's system, as I think both get time at both frontcourt positions.  James Young will be extremely lucky to stay with this team through the entire season but maybe there is still hope for the kid.  Very excited to see more of Jackson and Bentil.  Rozier's stock is shooting up during SL and could bring back some value, but Jackson needs to show a lot more to take the backup PG spot.

Just shooting... but nah, noone else, give roster spots to Lentils and Jackson maybe Yabu..

Anyone know if that John Holland non-guaranteed deal has kicked in? If it has that's 13 on the active roster. Add Lentils and Jackson.

I liked saltlover's Dedmon idea.

I'd be totally comfortable with Kevin Martin for some bench scoring on a 1 year deal.

And I've been impressed by Malcolm Miller -- maybe he could be had on a partially guaranteed contract.

We need big pieces as well.

However, anything that improves our ability to score the basketball I would support. We were FAR too inept offensively last year.

The only guys I would want off that list of free agents are Meyers Leonard and Allan Crabbe. Crabbe would be expensive as reportedly he might get a 4 year $70 million offer from the Nets. Leonard has some injury concerns so a cheaper deal as a 1+1 might work. Problem is Portland has vowed to match any offers to these players.

Still need a legit center and a 3 point specialist.
