Sullinger is a professional athlete whose job mandates he be in shape. He's also getting paid millions of dollars to do it. With no other job to occupy his time and having easy access to professional trainers and professional chefs, there's no other excuse but laziness to account for the poor shape he keeps himself in.

Considering he's an RFA t's possible that this could just mean that change to his diet/health 'is coming'.

I think we'd just sign him if he was only $8 million a year.

I'd say he's going to command at least $12-16 million a year and if that's the case we'll let him walk.

The guy is a capable starting power forward in the NBA and is young.

If Mozgov is getting 16 million then Sully's getting at least $12 milion.

Good thing is that with Horford here he's finally got some competition to compete for minutes.
He got scared by Amir and David Lee joining so he's probably doing the same off season motivational self pressure.

Unlikely he has the discipline to keep it up unfortunately.
How is Sully a capable starting PF?  He is a disaster defending out to the perimeter which is an absolute requirement to play PF in the NBA right now.  He is a poor 3 pt. shooter which is also a big problem because he can't draw his defender away from the paint, they just let him shoot all he wants.  He is the exact opposite of what NBA teams want in a PF and played almost exclusively at center last year for a very good reason.

Yep. That's why he mostly played C for us. Amir was the starting PF.

He played himself out of town during the Atlanta series.

absolute dud in that series.  He was also a dud vs the Cavs the year prior.

He looked gas once playoff intensity came around

Some team will pay him to come off the bench.

The statement in bold is simply not true.

NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

Sully's body type is such that he has to watch his weight and be selective about what he eats.
The team is supposed to give him nutritional guidance. We don't know anything about his conditioning, so it's hard to judge except to look at the finished product. And he does look overweight, though his wide body may help in his rebounding.

I remember years ago, Larry Bird upped his game by becoming super slim for a few years. Gradually regaining weight as he got older.

Why do people hate Sullinger so much?  Guy has played well for us.  Yes, he struggles with his weight.  It's his body type. It ain't easy given his metabolism.

Waste of a talent and a big tease.  If he lost 50 pounds he's a borderline allstar imo.

He is not a waste of talent or a tease.  The guy seriously produced for this team.  He averaged 10 and 8 a game in under 24 minutes.

Yes, he needs to be in better shape so he can play 28 minutes a game.  But the idea that he was somehow a waste is crazy.

IT said he'll get a better diet this summer to improve his game.
Shall see how it comes out. IT is not the skinny type, but I'm sure he'll find a way with hard work.
As for Sully, most of us gave up on him last september already. That was the "fan's deadline" and maybe Danny's one also.

That's why I am wondering what is up here.  Given his talent, age, and productivity some one should have crafted an offer sheet to him.  Where are the Nets here?  Where are the Knicks?  Bulls?  All these teams should be making an offer.

I am on record that if the offer is under $10M, we should match it.  I don't care if he is fat.  He is too good of a player to let walk for what would be cheap money.  Maybe we can put weight clauses in his contract.  I do not want him to get away simply because he is overweight.  That would be dumb.

He gave his best this season because it's his contract year. Don't be fool by Sully, he hasn't say anything great about Boston organization. As soon as he can, he's out of here.
He didn't appreciate us saying he's fat last year, he want out.
Good riddance

Have any RFAs besides Barnes signew offer sheets with other teams yet? I think most teams want to avoid tying up cap space until most of the FAs are off the market
I'm bitter.

Offer sheets can't be signed until midnight, for one.  For two, Barnes is unrestricted, as his QO was rescinded after KD decided.

That said, Tyler Johnson and Matthew Dellavadova both have come to agreements with new teams.  Delly won't be matched -- Miami hasn't decided on Tyler Johnson. I expect they'll match if Wade leaves.

Clarkson and Fournier were RFAs who reaches new agreements with their original teams.

RFA's can't sign until tomorrow, Harrison Barnes' rights were renounced by GSW so he's a UFA now.

By the sound of the title, I thought he changed the condition of his body.

I'm sure someone will sign Sully, he's a good 7th or 8th guy off the bench. He's a short minute player. After so many minutes he begins to stop moving on D, and starts front rimming his shots. But for short minutes he'll give you decent play.

When I first read this I thought he was referring to working out and getting into shape.  The same speech every year and somehow he does not measure up.

Teams love guys who gain weight during the season, don't come into camp in shape,  vanish in the playoffs and bigs that shoot in the low forties.  How could I not see that?   He is a solid rebounder, niftty passer and he had great hands but man he has no business taking threes.

I hope someone does pay him.  That means we are done.   But make no mistake he cost himself a lot of dough with his poor conditioning and diet.

Where was he is the playoffs, he was completely unreliable in the second half of the last few seasons.  No thanks, time to close the door.

Part of me thinks he is trolling people.
