Royce Young I believe is the ESPN staff writer in charge of the Thunder.

I feel that way now. I think he was trying to make it seem like he wasn't sure but i think he was trying to soften the bad press. Phony.

Yep this article shows how much of a hypocrite he really is (like we didn't know before)... I don't think I ever lost this much respect for a player this quickly before. I don't even hate GS like most people, I have a lot of family from the Bay Area and I tend to root for them in the West but it's so sad that Durant actually went there. Goes against everything we thought he was and how he portrayed himself.

If that was his goal, didn't work.  I never respected Lebron for grabbing two all stars in free agency and making a super team, I certainly can't respect Durant for jumping aboard the best regular season team in history.  I've lost total respect for him as a competitor.

I think we've all played pick up ball with the one guy who is clearly better than everyone else, but yet he gets all the best other players on his team as well.  I think we all hate "that guy."

Love the move. Any victories will have a nasty asterisk attached. Any bad defeats will be hilarious. It's win win from here in for your average butthurt fan.

Wow. KD wasn't the guy we thought he was. This just absolutely reeks of him not wanting the responsibility of being "the guy" anymore, and Curry's Warriors superteam gives him just that.

No wonder we were never really in consideration. We planned our pitch for the wrong guy - the alpha, superstar. That he is not. He wants to play under the shadow of the Warriors, specifically Curry, and there he can win without having to take the chance of being the fall guy since it's not "his" team anymore.

Well, guys, obviously he wasn't the one to lead us to the promised land anyways. Perhaps he had more to do with the name "Choklahoma City" than we thought. That's a total coward move, or at least a move that means that we were wrong all along about him being the type of player capable of leading a team to the title.

There is absolutely no bias or altered narratives coming from the ESPN writer for the Thunder.

He was supposed to be Curry -- the aw-shucks golden child who plowed his way through the league and dethroned LeBron James. Instead, he was in a boot watching Curry win an MVP and a championship.

I found the following article by Marc Spears more interesting, and it was shorter:

‘Strength In Numbers’ convinced Kevin Durant to join Warriors

Full-court press by Curry, Thompson, Green, Iguodala, Kerr and Jerry West sealed the deal

Yeah, I remember seeing an 'article' during the season by them desperate to show that MJ is still the greatest ::), about how the Bulls in 91 showed the Celtics 'who was the boss' ::). Lol, they were talking about a blowout win in Chicago without McHale and Bird could barely walk, and ESPN was like, "Yeah!  You show them who's boss, Michael!" ::) My favorite part was when they quoted the infamous Michael Smith, who they said played center :o, and I was like -

Do people even fact check anything, anymore?  Christ, it was harder to make it through the editing stage in high school, lol ;D. Ugh.

In reading the article, what I can't figure out is the whole thing with the mansion in the Hamptons.  Did KD just hop on to Airbnb and find a great deal or something, lol? ;D

Also, I somehow get the feeling that this will be LarBrd33's favorite part, haha ;D -

Quote
They didn't have anywhere to stay, and with the Fourth of July weekend a hectic time in the Hamptons, lodging was hard to come by. So the Thunder holed up at a Holiday Inn Express, located one mile away from Durant's compound, and waited.

There were only six rooms available for nine people, so they shared. Clay Bennett, a multimillion-dollar owner, in a Holiday Inn Express, sharing a bed. Nothing was open, so they settled on a T.G.I. Friday's for a late dinner.

The fact that Nolynyk was even there in the first place was ridiculous, imo, but then to show up like he'd just had a 'Wayne's World' themed slumber party made it even worse, lol ;D. Ugh. We should have brought Gisele ;D.
