He has learned something, and its small by the eye test, but huge in development. He has always played north/south. Not a lot of wasted movement. It was his speed in connection with his handles that were killing him. He wouldn't necessarily cough the ball up, but he would kind of lose it and have to gather it, giving defenses time to recover. Now, it seems his dribble is well controlled even when he is speeding around. The shot also looks to be coming along. I think all the people who boo'd this kid on draft night are going to be choking by next year. I just hope he is still a Celtic. He is not a trade throw in anymore IMHO.

I'm looking for his development to becoming our second unit ball handler. Looking at Smart I always saw him as a two guard.

I was not as impressed by Rozier as many seem to be.  Decent athlete and scorer but far, far, from being a PG.  He has a lot of work to do in that area.

Well its a good thing that Rozier plays for a coach who doesn't run a point guard system.. Wings, Swings, Bigs and Ballhandlers..

I guess you're right.  But that may be out of necessity.  We don't have a single true PG on the whol dang roster.

Barely any team has a 'true' PG. There is no need for them in near positionless basketball. It's more important for every player to be able to make the right reads than have one guy be able to make all the right reads constantly.

We had an excellent all-star PG who we swiftly sent out for a mid-first and a bench player (who turned out AWESOME!) - clearly Ainge/Stevens don't value pure PGs.

I loved what I saw from Rozier. I know it is just summer league, but he seems to do whatever he wants out there. Hopefully he will continue on that tonight.

rozier is looking like he is ready to break the rotation and contribute this year. and considering Turner is gone and we dont want marcus smart handling the ball, that is a good thing.

our young guys developing and contributing is going to be huge

Oh, I understand that it wasn't ideal, but I think it went both ways. It's not like Stevens came in and proclaimed Rondo the leader of the next great Celtics dynasty. Stevens had a style in mind that he wanted to run and Rondo didn't fit that. I wish Rondo had been able to go to a more stable environment, but I agree it was time to move on. I was just replying to the statement that we needed a 'true' PG.

As for Rozier, what's not to like? He looks a lot more confident and in control this year without sacrificing his speed/agility/explosiveness. I get that he is still a little rough around the edges, but he hasn't even entered his 2nd year yet. I am hoping people will stop placing him in the RJ/Young class of throw-ins in a trade.
