in his statement he talked about his teammates as people he went to war with. Probably not the best metaphor. Warriors do not cut and run to the side that just beat them.
Odd that this post concerns a move to a team called the Warriors.

NBA players like to use the War metaphor , I find it very annoying . Soldiers don't get paid millions of dollars for real wars.
