Nice first post and good post.

But...

"Next years free agency will be the most important in the Celtics history."

Nobody wants to hear that.

Trade for Cousins or Westbrook or Butler or somebody that'll make us a contender now. Soon. Not wait another freaking year. Challenge that megateam team this season.

Butler doesn't make you challenger for GSW. Neither does Okafor.
Boogie does

But to get Boogie we probably have to give up at least two of Smart, Crowder, and Bradley as well as some high draft picks which no longer makes us a contender.

It benefits us in the sense that we can just run this team to wherever it gets and have some fun and sit on multiple Brooklyn picks that may become stars right about when Durant and Curry start to lose a step.

If you were intent on seeing us win a title within the next five years though, this doesn't benefit at all. No two max players we could sign/trade for at this point would make us a better team than GSW.

Boogie + Butler? Butler + Westbrook? Westbrook + Griffin? None of it matters. GSW would still be better.

Still too weak up front to seriously contend. Horford improves them, but not enough. Gasol would put them closer to Cavs.

Maybe a little better, but hardly unbeatable. I think Isaiah, Butler, Crowder, Horford, Cousins would beat them 4 times out of 10.

This opens door, to acquire Festus Ezeli from GS. Now an UFA rim protector.Use the money saved, to get him ,and Alan Crabbe SG from Portland. You would then have two legitimate centers.
Ezeli 6-11 1/2 264  7-5 3/4 ws 26 years old. Crabbe 6-6 1/4  197 6-11 1/4 ws 24 years old. 26mpg
394 3pt %.  We get the rim protector and shooter that we need.

Makes sense.  Sounds good.  Danny disapproves ::)

I like the idea of picking up Ezeli.  Jordan Hill or Speights wouldn't be bad for depth either.
