I think Rondo and J.Butler can work together. Like Rondo & Pierce here.

Yeah, I don't really understand this from the bulls FO.  I am still a Rondo fan, but he probably would have been better served staying in Sac and hoping they find better players to put around him and Cousins.   But it sounds like Sac didn't want him back.  The Hoiberg / Rondo pairing is a weird one as well.  Bulls need more shooters to implement Hoiball completely.

HAHAHAHA what a horrible fit! I guess they are going to trade Butler to us after all when he demands a trade lol

A ridiculously ball-dominant point guard who can't shoot playing alongside Butler. Where have we heard that before?  ;D ;)

Devil's advocate, Rondo shot 35% from 3 in Dallas and 37% from 3 last year in Sac.

I don't think they'll be worse for losing Rose and gaining Rondo that's for sure.

Correction: on the second year of the Rajon Rondo deal to Chicago, I'm told there's a "mutual buyout." Specifics unclear, though.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Small sample size - on 1.2 attempts and 2.4 attempts, respectively. Even in Sac he didn't even make one a game. People gave him space and dared him to shoot it. If he starts doing that more regularly, then he'll be guarded closer, and those percentages will go down.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Weird - another short term deal (2nd year option?) and for quite a bit less money than I would have guessed. Maybe next year he will get his big payday(?). He is still waiting - maybe he just wants to play for every possible team.

Sure doesn't feel like the best fit.  Fred Hoiberg doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that can handle a personality like Rondo if things start to go bad...but things going bad is exactly what we need to root for.

We gotta hope that the chemistry fails miserably and that the team is vastly disappointing leading up to the trading deadline...that way if we're still in the position of trading Butler, it makes it a bit easier.

Pretty sure they would trade Rondo before Butler if things went south.

Actually Rondo in Philly could be super interesting for the 76rs

wait, didn't butler and rose bump heads on ball control amount? do they think RR is different? woah.
He is different, because he's looking to pass. That is fundamentally different.

Presumably Rondo has a player's option that is only partially guaranteed, probably around $4 million.

What an odd team they've got.

Rondo Butler McDermott Mirotic Lopez

Anybody afraid of that lineup?

yeah but is butler fine with just receiving a pass? rr still wants to control the offense.

That would be a respectable percentage for most players, but with Rondo probably 90%+ of those shots were uncontested.  Anything outside of 8 feet you let him have it.
