Not sure how reliable this is, but it says he's hearing "wild rumblings" about KD tumors. Hopefully wild = against popular opinion = going to C's!
if Miami is being considered that tells you he wouldn't be opposed to coming out East this is actually great news for us I guess now that I stepped off the ledge
lol

When did Durant get cancer? ;) ;D

Haha! That's why I hate posting on my iPhone rather than laptop lol

That same InsideHoops account just tweeted that sources told them Heat are still in the running with OKC/GSW.

No mention of Celts, and was bummed to see they had 260k followers.
Uhhh ****

Guys, there's literally been reports of almost every single position right now lol So let's not freak out to every single one. Bulpett knows his stuff, and it makes no sense that the HEAT of all teams would be in the running still and us not. It's unclear how they'd even get the room to sign him, if Bosh will ever even play again, and if Wade will even be a member of the Heat next year..

He's still considering us, and we'll know what he'll end up doing tomorrow.

Hey, just talked to Durant and he confirmed where he's going, gonna head to dinner w friends first. I'll try to get free later to post. 😉

I should make a Twitter account.  My source says that the Warriors are unlikely, and that it's the Celtics or the Thunder.  Thunder could jump in the lead if Westbrook recruits hard enough, but rumor is he's okay with Durant leaving to prove that he deserves and MVP award.
might as well just ignore twitter.   If Durant was choosing OKC, he'd just come out and say it.  Why make everyone suffer for a day?  That's the drama queen behavior people lambasted LeBron for.

He's taking a day, because he probably doesn't yet know for certain what he wants to do.  Maybe he does ultimately decide to go to OKC... but if he had already made that decision, there's no point to sitting on it.

Seems like Bulpett was the first to insist the decision would be tomorrow when others were sticking to the general 24-36 hour original timeline or expecting an announcement tonight.

Does it mean anything that a Boston guy had the more specific timing right first?

This is what I was thinking. Bulpett was the first to say it's tomorrow and it's not based off money? Then Blakely tweet out that Ainge is at the summer league, got off the plan with a grin on his face?

Honestly, "it's not about money" is best news for teams other than the Celtics, who have max cap space.  The Heat don't, for instance.  The Warriors can, but have to jump through a lot of hoops to get there.

I'd say it's best news for teams other than the Thunder, since they can pay Durant the most.

That was my interpretation, too. Not that he was going to take a first year pay-cut.

I was having a little fun being a negative Nancy.  What it really means is that he's more likely to sign a multi-year deal.  If it were about he money, he'd hit free agency again next season.

Still don't see the appeal of a long-term deal wherever he goes. If teams are willing, which they are, it doesn't make sense to A) not keep options open, and B) not make more money in the process. The 1 + 1 doesn't necessarily mean that he still wants to do this thing again next summer. Rather, it's just a business move.

Some people just don't want to run their life like a buisness.

Sure, you could do that and make more money, but what if you get injured severely? He's already had a big injury, and another one could be devastating and tank that possible windfall. Also, "keeping the options open" is nice, but it's only nice if you run a business. Some people want to just pick a place and commit.

Not every player has an interest in holding their teams hostage year after year and force them into rash decisions based on their ability to leave/not leave. Not everyone is like LeBron.

And thank god for that. Durant has already made hundreds of millions playing basketball, and hundreds of millions more selling shoes. More than we can even fathom. For a guy like him, the money and the leverage mean a lot less compared to stability and commitment.

But even beyond the financials, if he had any doubt in say joining the Celtics or the potential fit of him on the roster (GS) or someone leaving (RW), then that would give him a potential out in all of those scenarios. Thus, it seems that there are legit non-financial reasons that he would prefer the 1 + 1 over the long-term deal. Of course, the cap implications do provide a legit reason to prefer the long-term deal over the 1 + 1.

Yeah, there's literally been semi-credible reports on every single angle so far lol There's really no use in speculating about it anymore. We'll know soon enough tomorrow. I'm just really hoping that I wake up to good news rather than bad news.

And even if he goes elsewhere we've had a very good offseason just with landing Horford, imagine being the Lakers/Mavs/Houston instead.

FYI, several sports websites still claiming this is a three-team race:

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/report-kevin-durants-decision-comes-down-to-thunder-warriors-celtics/

http://www.todaysfastbreak.com/from-the-courts/where-should-kevin-durant-sign/

Steve Kyler also said he wouldn't be surprised at all if KD chose Boston over the other two teams:

https://twitter.com/stevekylerNBA?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

There's still hope, everybody, but as Faf says above, we've already greatly improved this offseason if not.

Outside of speculation, such as Stein, literally the only one saying we weren't in the running was the OKC beat writer. Then you had what amounted to a Celtics beat writer saying the exact opposite, and you also have Bulpett, who is the most reliable guy in Boston, saying we're still an option, too. We're fine. ESPN and other national media has been pushing the GS narrative since the beginning, but many basketball minds have really questioned how that would affect Durant. It's no surprise that they're still pushing it.

Just heard Broussard on ESPN say that the Jerry West conversation was originally scheduled for Friday, but they couldn't pull it off, so he agreed to chat Saturday.  I originally took the West call to think that Durant had kind of made up his mind and was checking back with GSW today.

Hearing what Broussard said tells me:

a) GSW didn't have their ducks in a row enough to have West connect on the day their pitch was scheduled
b) Durant probably agreed to hear from West at that meeting.

E.g. I don't take it to mean anything more then it was just a part of the original pitch.  Doesn't, in itself, signify he's learning towards the Warriors.

Do you guys think Durant is on the phone right now trying to make the decision and who you think he's talking to ?

Or, is he playing NBA 2K17 with him on each team simulating stats n win totals to decide ?

Lol, hope he chooses Al Horford and Isaiah Thomas and he's got to consider that in a few years Jaylen Brown will be beastmode

I wonder if Danny has had Horford call him to try and convince him to come over.
