Kevin Durant has concluded his meeting with the Miami Heat. He will meet with the Thunder in NY later today & then hunker down to decide.

So he is actually giving them the last word.

I was going to post something earlier this morning to see if it would be good or bad if he gave the Thunder the last meeting, because as of last night that wasn't decided.

To me, this is him saying - okay, you have to match this now. If he wouldn't have taken the meeting, I would have expected him back in OKC. But since he's giving them one more meeting, I think that he's putting the ultimatum on them, which isn't good for them after we were the ones able to get Horford instead of them.

Is Westbrook attending the OKC meeting?

I think his commitment or lack of commitment to OKC will be the deciding factor.

I'm scared of that last meeting especially is Russ is involved and it gets emotional. KD just seems like the type that as much as he maybe wanted to leave would swallow it for his hometown and give it one last go at it. It would give us a year with Horford to see how that plays out.

That is a surprisingly positive way to look at it. I see what you're saying. It does imply a certain torness

I was wondering if maybe he is trying to torture everyone and make them realize how much they want him.

Can't say we didn't do absolutely everything we could.

I think it's possible he is honorable enough he's giving his answer to them in person no matter what.

Given that as of last night he wasn't decided about meeting with OKC again, I think meeting with them again today is not a good sign. But who knows?

I'm going through the 7 stages of Durant right now.

Anger ...how dare he make us wait!

Bargaining...if he comes here I'll be a good person for a month!

Pleading.....Oh God oh please let him come here!

Fear...what if he doesn't come here?

Optimism....I know he'll come here.

Pessimism...he's never coming here.

Pain...oh my tummy!

Agree.... I don't know how much more of this I can take lol

I was moving apartments and had no Internet access during the KG buildup and trade.  I literally had no idea there was a chance of getting him til I logged on and saw he was already here.

I gotta say in hindsight that was probably about the best way of going about it, because this is excruciating.

Given that as of last night he wasn't decided about meeting with OKC again, I think meeting with them again today is not a good sign. But who knows?

Here's my reasoning:

OKC has always been the preferred destination. He's basically set at an OKC default, and one of the other suitors would have to sway him otherwise.

Thus, to me, no final meeting with OKC would mean that no other team was able to sway him, since he was set at an OKC default anyways. Now, though, I reckon that this is a way of giving them one last chance to persuade him/match what the others team have offered in their pitches.

I could be way off, but that seems to me to be the logical way to look at the final meeting with OKC, especially if we assume that it's been the default the entire time.

You could be right (and I hope you are). It's just the opposite of my first instinct upon hearing this.

I'm told #Heat's meeting with Kevin Durant lasted about two hours

For what it's worth, a person with connections to Horford told CBS Sports on Saturday night that rival executives assembled in Orlando for Summer League still believe that the most likely scenario for Durant is staying in Oklahoma City.

Sounds just like an opinion still lets pump the breaks just a little or were gonna be let down

Looks like it's true that no one likes Howard. Shocker...

Hey, be careful. He's a game changer for Atlanta according to Koz  :o

Honestly, that could very well be it, too, even if it's not Boston that he's going to. He would probably tell them face to face, though I doubt he's made his decision already.

And now turning to optimism, Durant could be the kind of guy who wants to do a face-to-face goodbye (as opposed to you know, letting the entire world know at the same time  ;))
