I love this board, cool place to talk Celtic stuff..

Anyway, before This FA period, even back a couple of years ago, Back when Lebron Destroyed Durant in the playoffs I said that I didn't think he had the heart to be a champion.. I always considered him soft, a guy with not enough dog in him to beat the other dog across the Street.

Fast forward to this year, during the year when they were playing Well.. In my opinion the team belonged to WestBrook. He was the Catalyst behind them winning and losing.. When OKC beat the Spurs they interviewed Westbrook (not Durant) about the upcoming duel with the defending champs and he pretty much said they put pants on the same way he did. He had his chest out and for 3 games he backed it up..  In the End when they lost it was squarely on Westbrooks shoulders but that's not the point.. The point to me is Westbrook was the dog in that fight.. He was the leader. Durant was the side kick..

When I see Durant I don't see a Lebron or a Pierce or a Bird.. players with that dog in them.. When I see Durant I see a nice guy who wants to be Robin never batman.

If we land Durant of course I will cheer like crazy because I love this team.. but deep down I can never see us winning with him leading us. To me he is not a champion, he doesn't have what it takes.. He is an incredible offensive player and he is the shiny new toy on the playground... but when this is all said and done, unless he goes to GS, he will not be a player that any other player will fear playing against for the Chip..  Nobody on this board would be surprised if he never played for the chip again..  (unless he goes to a team where he can be Robin.. Spurs or Warriors)

He's a super nice guy and all but super nice doesn't win any street brawls..

I am okay if Durant doesn't come here. He doesn't have what it takes to lead us where we want to go.

With Durant in the east and with the players here surrounding him, LeBron and the Cavs will be destroyed. He will sniff the NBA Finals again.

And then Durant and the Celtics will pick the Warriors apart from there.

Well ya better be, because there's a 90+% chance he doesn't.

We play Golden State tough period.  We've beat them in their own house, and this is with our current level of talent.  If we add Horford + Durant on TOP of our current team.  I easily see us competing for a championship and winning, even if it's Golden State on the other side of the court.

Yes, Durant might not come here.  But adding him to our puzzle, could really take us over the top.

If Durand doesn't go to the Celtics, he is a fool. God Himself wishes He was a Celtic.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Let's just keep that at 0%

Yikes, this was said several days before Durant came out as a front-runner.

I guess you turned out to be right  :-[
